Just did my taxes in 2020 I earned more as a freelance editor than in any year since I started in 2011. All right!

I do freelance editing for the Tulip Media Group and today is Employee Appreciation Day. They gave me a YETI Rambler tumbler with my name printed on it. It was completely unexpected and made me very happy. They are great people to work with.... https://www.facebook.com//a.1810717179105/1810717155772046

Just finished attending Anvil Press’ cross-continental fiction launch on Zoom. Fredericton author Mark Jarman’s new book, Czech Techno, was one of the books featured. During the meeting there was discussion about the fact that before the pandemic publishers didn’t usually hold online launches. But online launches give people from across the country, and tonight from the U.S. as well, a chance to attend. Maybe online launches will continue after we can go to live events again. The Anvil Pres website: www.anvilpress.com/ . Does Zoom always put your photo in the top row, second from left? That’s how I always appear on my screen.

I was one of the people Steve hired to edit his book. I enjoyed it!

The last event of The Fiddlehead's 75th anniversary celebrations will be held on Dec. 9. You can attend on Zoom: https://www.facebook.com/TheFiddlehead/posts/3487823014598832 I attended the anniversary event in November and it was fun.... There were 75 people from across Canada. It started at 7 p.m. Fredericton time; you could see some people's windows and in some parts of Canada it was still light outside. I'm in the top row in a sweater with red arms. You don't have to let people see you, if you don't want to. You just "attend without video." Instead of video of you sitting at your computer, you appear on the screen as a black box.

This afternoon David Huebert presented a good workshop on how to get published and to be successful as a writer. He also discussed the different ways you could define successful. He is UNB’s writer-in-residence and he is willing to talk to New Brunswick residents about their writing and to offer advice: [email protected]. His website: https://davidhuebert.com/.... That’s me in the yellow shirt.

I met R.M. only once. He was UNB’s writer-in-residence and I showed him a few of my stories and poems. He was very encouraging. He seemed like a great person I liked him. I am sad that he’s gone.... https://www.cbc.ca//n-b-writer-richard-vaughan-found-dead-

This afternoon I attended the last event in this year’s Word Feast: Fredericton's Literary Festival. It was Odd Sundays at Word Feast; Odd Sundays is a long-running reading series in Fredericton. The winners of the annual Word Feast Postcard Story Contest, the first Word Feast Fredericton Playhouse Contest and Word Feast's Video Slam were announced but I didn’t write them down. They will be posted on the Word Feast website: wordfeast.ca . And on the Word Feast Facebook page: ...Word Feast: Fredericton's Literary Festival . Their readings were recorded and will be available on the Word Feast YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCmssN1SLWlyWYRzPiuKlJxg . Because of COVID-19, it was an online event. It’s funny but now that most literary events are virtual, I’m attending more than I did when they were held in person.

I attended the launch of the fourth annual Word Feast: Fredericton's Literary Festival tonight on Zoom. Senator David Adams Richards, winner of two Governor-General’s Literary Awards, gave the keynote talk.

This is one of the projects Tulip Media asked me to help edit. I enjoyed the book; it tells a good story.
