Happy National Pet Day!! Every day is Pet Day as far as we are concerned but let's see pics of your pets enjoying their special day. I will start with a few #nationalpetday2021

Fort Malden Animal Hospital 05.06.2021

With the province entering another lockdown we have had some clients ask if there are any changes to our services. We will continue to run appointments by curbside. You need to call the clinic when you arrive and speak to the veterinarian before bringing your pet to the door and hand him/her off to one of our technicians. You will wait in your vehicle in our parking lot while the doctor examines your pet and then calls you to discuss her findings. We ask for your patience since our phones have been extremely busy. Please call to order medications or foods ahead of time. We are experiencing some back orders so giving us extra time to get your products is helpful. Our staff is working hard to keep things moving along, thank you for all your understanding! We will get through this together

Just a reminder that we will be closed for the Christmas holiday until Monday December 28 when we will be open again at 8 am until 5 pm. If you have an emergency you can contact Lauzon Veterinary Hospital at 519-948-7727 or you can book a telemedicine appointment with a licensed veterinarian in Ontario through www.vetsters.com Have a wonderful and safe holiday

Fort Malden Animal Hospital 05.02.2021

There is a veterinary telemedicine website that you can access when we are closed. Check it out. If you need to speak a veterinary team member about your pet they are available. They can even diagnose and prescribe medications for some problems. So it's a good alternative when your pet needs some care but not necessarily needing a trip into emergency or if your work schedule is not letting you book in clinic appointments with your regular veterinarian during these stressful times. Of course there are some things they can not help with via telemedicine and will give you guidance on when to seek further care.

We will be open for our regular hours Monday to Wednesday 8 am to 5 pm. We are doing curbside only at this time. Please call ahead to order refills of medications and food. We will be closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day so that our entire staff can have a much deserved rest with their families. We want to thank our amazing clients for all the support we've received during these challenging times. We truly appreciate the kind words, gifts and delicious treats. We are so blessed!

This is a deer tick we removed from one of our patients today..yes today! Ticks can be active 4 C and up. We recommend year round parasite control to protect your pet from all kinds of pests. This particular pet does not run through woods and fields but owners have seen deer in the neighborhood. If you have questions give us a call 519-736-6472 to speak to one of our team members

Taking the time to send our Thank You to all the men, women and four legged soldiers We enjoy so many freedoms, take them for granted even. If not for those special individuals who put their personal safety at risk to protect our way of life we could be living very differently. So thank a Veteran today and remember those who have given the ultimate sacrifice. Lest We Forget

What an honour..our photo was chosen to be part of an article about the different roles of those who work in an animal hospital. We would like to send out a very heartfelt thank you to our clients! If you have called and gotten a busy signal or been put on hold for longer than we normally would we apologize. Our 3 phone lines have been ringing off the hook but we are doing our best to help everyone calling in. The way we are doing appointments does take a bit more time than pre COVID but we are developing a good flow and our staff is working really hard to do their best for our clients and patients. Social distancing is very difficult for us simply due to the size of our exam rooms and reception area. We are keeping our door locked so please call ahead to order food and medication refills or to book appointments. We truly appreciate your patience, kindness and understanding. We have the best clients!! Thank you

OWNER FOUND!! We currently have a male black lab (very handsome but hard to photograph!) In clinic. He was found running down Simcoe street. If this is your dog you can call the clinic at 519-736-6472 and identify him.

Fort Malden Animal Hospital 06.07.2020

It's another extremely hot day! Please remember to leave your dog at home while doing errands, never leave them in a car even for "just a minute or two" It could prove to be dangerous for your best friend. Walking on hot pavement or cement could definitely cause injury to the pads of your dog's paws. Keeping pets cool in this weather is so important. If you have questions or concerns please give us a call 519-736-6472 If you have an emergency after hours contact Lauzon Veterinary Hospital at 519-948-7727 Keep cool!

Fort Malden Animal Hospital 26.06.2020

Happy Canada Day!! We hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful weather and spending time with loved ones. Just a reminder that we are closed today for the holiday but will be back in tomorrow from 8 am to 4 pm. If you have an emergency please contact Lauzon Veterinary Hospital at 519-948-7727

Fort Malden Animal Hospital 12.06.2020

With our area entering Phase 2 many clients have asked when we will be opening our door. We are working on allowing one client per visit but until we can work out some details our door will remain locked. We ask that you continue to call ahead for refills of medications and to order food. Social distancing will be a challenge due to our limited space. We will keep everyone informed when changes will be occurring. And we also ask you to continue being patient with us. We are... working hard to get all overdue patients caught up for their exams, vaccines, heartworm tests and other elective procedures. Our days are extremely busy, our 3 phone lines are constantly ringing and we rarely get lunch breaks. Starting Monday July 6th we will be extending our hours. We will be open from 8 am until 5 pm Monday to Friday and our normal 8 am to noon on Saturday. If you have an emergency after hours please call Lauzon Veterinary Hospital at 519-948-7727 See more

Fort Malden Animal Hospital 22.04.2020

What a wonderful surprise! Thank you so much Jeraka, Brad and your sweet fur babies Lexxi, Brandy and Rosco. This made our week and we appreciate you very much

Fort Malden Animal Hospital 04.04.2020

Our phones are ringing almost non stop right now. We realize many of you are calling to get your pet in for their annual exams, vaccines, heartworm tests and other elective procedures so we ask that you are patient when you have difficulty getting through to us, have to be put on hold or we need to book your appointment days to weeks from now. We are trying to get caught up on all the patients that missed their appointments due to COVID and still see and care for our sick and urgent care patients. We are stressed but trying to do as much as possible for our patients and clients. We appreciate all the kind words of support we are getting, just know we are doing our best with the current challenges. Stay safe and be kind

Fort Malden Animal Hospital 23.03.2020

Stay cool and please leave pets at home when you run your errands! These temperatures are deadly for them when left in your vehicle even for a few minutes.

Fort Malden Animal Hospital 20.03.2020

Cutest little action star and his doggo friends Hope it makes you smile

Fort Malden Animal Hospital 17.03.2020

The clinic will be closed for the remainder of today in order for the staff to get organized in preparation for the addition of elective procedures starting next week. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Fort Malden Animal Hospital 06.03.2020

Happy Victoria Day! We will be closed today so that our staff can enjoy time with family, relax and recharge in order to continue providing care to our patients. If you have an emergency please contact Walker Road Animal Hospital at 519-972-9000 Have a wonderful day!

Fort Malden Animal Hospital 23.02.2020

With some of the restrictions on routine procedures being lifted next week, we will be working hard to figure out staffing and accommodating routine procedures into our existing social distancing protocols. We will not be going back to our pre-Covid hours or allowing clients into the clinic itself at this time. We will still have a locked door policy and all questions and appointments must be made via phone. We ask that you have patience and refrain from calling and trying t...o book routine appointments at this time. We will be having a staff meeting on Wednesday May 20th to discuss the changes needed to meet the influx of clients wanting their pet/pets seen. We will start booking routine procedures on Monday May 25th. We will do our best to accommodate our clients and patients but there is a limit to what we can do physically and mentally in a day. We will still need time to work up urgent care patients so there will be a delay in getting everyone's pets in for their annual exam, vaccines, heartworm test, nail trims and other routine procedures. Again, please be patient during this time of change. We promise to do the very best we can! Stay safe See more

So what does our new normal look like? We want to share a few pics of our staff doing what we can for our patients during this pandemic. We may not be able to do elective procedures at this time (spays, neuters, vaccines, heartworm tests, nail trims etc) but we are here to help with your pet's urgent care needs via telemedicine, facetime if you have apple products or facebook messenger. For those more critical patients we will arrange for them to be examined in clinic if bloodwork, xrays or other procedures must be done. Please be patient since these methods may take a bit more time. Stay safe

Fort Malden Animal Hospital 02.01.2020

What a wonderful and unexpected gift! A big thank you to Tracy Lines, one of our awesome clients who was so thoughtful and left this amazing box of treats for our staff!! We are so happy to be able to provide urgent care and medicine/food to our patients in these uncertain times. It is definitely stressful on our staff but we will continue to do our best for you. Please stay safe and stay home. Thanks again Tracy

We are experiencing technical difficulties with our phones. We expect them back online by 11:30 am. Sorry for any inconvenience

Fort Malden Animal Hospital 08.12.2019

Here is a couple videos on trimming your dogs nails during this time of isolation.. if you do trim a nail too short you can use flour, cornstarch or run a bar of soap across the nail to stop bleeding. Stay safe

Fort Malden Animal Hospital 29.11.2019

We would like to wish all of our families, friends and clients a very safe and happy Easter. This year may be very different than your usual celebration but we hope you are able to find joy in our new normal. And please keep your pets safe too! Keep chocolate and other goodies, all the yummy turkey and other treats away from your pet. Cooking bags and bones can pose a foreign body danger to the dogs who eat them! And of course do not bring lilies into a home that has cats, they are extremely toxic to them!

Fort Malden Animal Hospital 13.11.2019

While you may have heard news reports about a small number of animals testing positive for Covid-19, experts dont believe at this time that pets are a factor i...n spreading the illness to people. Youre much more at risk being exposed to another human! So enjoy your time at home with your cat or dog! See more

Fort Malden Animal Hospital 04.11.2019

Fort Malden Animal Hospital 08.10.2019

We thought since we are not able to book things like nail trims at this time we would share a how to video or two! Today's video is how to do a cat nail trim, remember keep it positive, offer some treats and take your time. Turn up the sound and listen to our lovely Dr Nicole explaining how you can trim your cats nails at home.

Fort Malden Animal Hospital 26.09.2019
