Cheese Fundraiser Information: Dates: November 2 - November 20th - All sales must be in by 9pm on the 20th Arrival - Cheese should arrive the week of December 7th ... Hello Fort Smith Skating Families, we have had community members reach out wanting to order cheese so this is a great opportunity for us to fundraise! In order to do this in a safe way that is supported we will be proceeding with only virtual sales (phone/social media/email). We ask that you all promote this as much as possible. We ask that all orders be sent to the [email protected] email and preferred payment is an EMT with a descriptor with the 'name of the customer and saying it's for cheese' so we can verify payments easily. Customers can send their orders and EMT direct to this [email protected] or through yourselves, but will need to ensure they include Phone #, Email Address and their Home Address with the specific cheeses they want and the amount. We need to determine a location for pickup or drop off and will advise closer to the delivery date. If you have any questions please email our [email protected]. Thanks, Fort Smith Skating Board

Hey Fort Smith! If you would like to get you FREE player card available to ALL ice users for the 2020/2021 season please PM me. Location Fort Smith Arena... TIME: 4pm - 4:50pm DATES: November 7th & 21st Covid-19 we need to have a sign up sheet for the picture times. First come First serve :) Just like past years please come dressed with your choice of Jersey or dress :) 1. Have parents schedule arrival times signing up online via Facebook 2. Have one parent volunteer at the front door/lobby/ vestibule to allow 8 ice users at a time entry a. This parent records contact information and COVID-19 screening protocol. b. As ice user leaves facility and is finished with their picture another will be allowed to enter to go to designated change room (male/female) 3. Require 2 change rooms: a. Male b. Female 4. Paul will be on the ice to take the picture with the ice user a. approximately 10-30 seconds b. Ice user then returns to designated change rooms dresses and leaves facility. 5. At all times following the designated covid-19 guidelines put for by the Town of Fort Smith with respect to centennial arena use and entry.

Hello Members of Fort Smith Skating Club, I want to take a few minutes to send out some important highlights, and to provide sincere thanks to our outgoing Board Membership and welcome our new Board Members. Covid-19 Updates: First off I would like to give sincere thanks to Alex Pryor for all of his guidance and expertise in supporting the board in preparing for the 2020-2021 Skating year within the context of covid-19. Alex has taken on the role as Covid-19 Coordinator fo...r our club and is the liaison with Public Health and has been preparing all of the screening and tracking tools which have supported the year in getting off to a smooth start. Alex will continue to support us in this role throughout the year. In addition the follow-through from the skating members and you as parents in ensuring the screening is completed at each session as well as completing the educational video and knowledge check is remarkable. This situation is challenging and modifications have had to be made, but your patience and understanding is appreciated. As well I want to say thank our coaches who have been so committed over the years and have had to put in incredible hours to adjust to the updated requirements. We will continue to keep you updated on any scheduling changes, covid required expectations in as timely a way as possible. AGM Update: At the AGM last week we saw some of our long term board members step down to give new skating club parents an opportunity. We want to give sincere thanks to Diane Seals (outgoing President), Cam and Melissa Zimmer (outgoing fundraising chairs) and Heather Villienueve (outgoing registration chair) on the countless hours that they have dedicated to Fort Smith Skating Club. These board members have volunteered for many years to ensure that the Fort Smith Skating Club operated smoothly and that there were incredible opportunities for the children and youth and putting on incredible Carnivals year after year. You will be greatly missed:) The newly elected Board is as follows: Kristy Jones (President) Vina Turner (Vice President) Alex Hook (Treasurer) Jessica Hval (Fundraising) Katie McNab (Secretary) I am excited for this opportunity and to work with such an incredible Board! In addition we are still looking for volunteers to fill the Registration Chair, the work for the 2020-2021 year has been completed already by the outgoing chair so this role would be great for someone with minimal board experience to fill, and in addition we are seeking two additional 'Members at Large' to support as required (i.e. fundraising initiatives, etc.). I would appreciate each of you to carefully consider this as we really do need volunteers to ensure the sustainability of our skating club.
