Very informative! Thanks for sharing, Ness District Salmon Fishery Board
The Big Salmon River crew is excited to announce they caught their first two iBoF Atlantic Salmon smolts in the smolt wheel this morning! We would also like to note that due to high water levels the counting fence is still out of commission, however staff are hoping to start re-installing conduit tomorrow.
The counting fence has not been operational over the past few days due to swift water conditions. Hopefully we will be fishing soon!
The counting fence is operational and fishing! Water temperature was 5oC this morning and 7.5oC at 1:30pm.
It was a chilly and snowy morning on the Pollett River! Water temperature was 4.5oC. We captured white suckers, creek chubs, gasperau, an American eel and an Atlantic salmon smolt . Due to swift water conditions, fence conduit was removed. Fishing will resume once water conditions improve.
Way to go, Michelle Knockwood!
