Hi Families just a heads up the May/June Covid19 update email has gone out, please check your email. Temporary emergency funding for June was announced on Friday along with more guidelines from our Ministry(MCFD) and Worksafe BC. We are working on a guide for returning families. Most of our educators are ready to return and we are prepared to accept our families as their need arises. Hello families for those of you that missed our recent email, we have received TEF (Temporary emergency funding) for May 2020. This means all families that were enrolled in March 2020 your spaces are secured by the provincial government for May. It also means FTKD can weather this crisis and be ready for families as we enter the new world. This might be something interesting for our 4 year old children! Hi everyone, I'm a professor at UBCO and I'm organizing a non-screen coding event on Saturday Sept 28 from 2-5pm (poster ad below). This is part of a larger community event called "Homecoming". My booth has 6 stations, and the target audience is for ages 4-9. Each station has a hands-on activity related to "coding skills" and "computational thinking skils". Older kids will understand the concepts better but younger kids will enjoy the play more. Our computer science booth is just one of several that will appeal to the kids. Chemistry and Engineering have kids activities as well, and other departments are organizing events that will appeal to a larger audience. There are lots of give-aways and prizes. Hope to see some of you there!

On September 8th 2009 Jodie Lowenberg (now Matthews) came to work for us at For The Kids Daycare. In the past 10 years we have been through a lot together. Rob and I are so grateful to have this amazing person in our lives and our families are so lucky to have such an amazing Educator in the lives of thier children! Thank you Jodie, for doing everything that you do for our families, staff and for us! Here's to many more adventures to come!

The 3-K program put on a great community helpers theme in March.

First off Rob and I would like to say we hope everyone had a great Easter long weekend and to thank all of our staff for taking care of things while we were away. Secondly we would like to share how we spent our Christmas gift (which was meant for our Rolling Stones concert which was cancelled) that all our staff pitched in on. We bought ourselves a delicious dinner at a beautiful beach side seafood restaurant. Perfect ending to a great holiday! Thanks again everyone!

They're trying to break some records and out-do our Canadian counterparts. Kelowna has historically had a better turn-out than other cities with much bigger populations. We've always been a generous, giving community and we prove that with records like that...
