I’m so proud of how far Bentley has come in his training! He just completed the Frantic to Focused private training program with his dedicated dog mom Tamara. Not only was Bentley able to calmly walk through Jasper during tourist season but Tamara recently updated me saying Bentley greeted a complete stranger on his walk without barking! With her new training skills Tamara was able to confidently guide Bentley to be within 2 feet of my big dog Bear. Bentley was brave enough... to walk towards Bear and sniff the air to see what Bear was all about which is huge progress! Previously Bentley would bark and lunge at people and dogs from his yard, on walks and at people in the house. He’d get so worked up that he’d bite his owners if they tried to touch him. Now he’s happy to greet people in the home! He’s used to bark at dogs on walks from 100 feet away but is now well on his way to building up enough confidence to do leash greetings. Why put in the time and effort into training your dog? For me personally with my own dog, it's an investment into all the fun I'll be having with my dog for the next 14 plus years that I spend with him over his life. As a person who adopted a dog with behaviour problems from a shelter, my only regret is that I didn't start training my dog sooner. If I'd started training my dog sooner, I wouldn't have missed out on all the fun I could've been having with a dog that's a joy to... be around. The freedom that comes along with having a well behaved, more easy going dog was more than worth the effort for me. What is having a well behaved, more easy going dog worth to you?
