Fortitude Fitness and Training 16.11.2020

Thank you to everyone who continues to support Fortitude, whether it's joining virtual classes, pre-paying for sessions, or purchasing at-home programs. My heart is so full of appreciation! I am so excited to announce that Fortitude Fitness and Training will be reopening for private sessions on June 1st! I will continue to offer group classes virtually until further notice, as my studio space isn't quite big enough to hold large numbers while keeping a safe dist...ance. June virtual classes will be: Saturdays at 11am (FREE) Wednesdays at 5:15pm ($8) I will be messaging all clients with some new rules/ guidelines that will be in place once open. I can't wait to see all of my clients again! See more

After class yesterday, as I was lying on my floor drenched in sweat/ trying to catch my breath, I thought about how much I enjoy doing these virtual classes! I've had so much positive feedback from so many people - clients, friends, strangers, people who are new to classes, and people who are new to working out altogether! It just shows how great these classes are for every fitness level! So since you all love the classes so much , I decided to add in a week day class! ...The new class will be on Wednesdays at 5:15pm for the month of May! These classes will be 45 minutes and $8 (EMT only). You will need minimal to no equipment to participate (I will let you know what equipment is needed the day before). Message me if you'd like to join this coming Wednesday OR if you'd like to sign up for the month ($32). See more

I find myself feeling an immense amount of gratitude and support during this very trying time. I'm so fortunate to work in such a supportive community. Thank you to everyone that has stood behind our local small businesses and tried to lessen the economic impact from covid-19. It is so appreciated. During this difficult time, I believe one of the best forms of self care is to move our bodies (go for a walk, hike, home work out, yoga, dance in your living room) and so I would like to give back in the best way that I can. I will be offering free virtual workout classes starting this Saturday at 11am! If you are interested in joining me for a Saturday sweat sesh, please send me a message! Thank you again to everyone for your love and support!

Here's a quick hiit workout that will get your heartrate up and also give you a full body burn. The exercises go in pairs - one cardio exercise that is timed for 50 seconds and the other exercise a slower movement that you will count for reps. You will repeat each pair of exercises for 4 rounds. Try and rest as little as possible! Good luck, it was a sweaty one Pair #1: High knees side to side - 50 sec... Using gliders or cloths: tricep slide out push-ups. Alternating or one side at a time. (Elbow stays tight to body and bends straight back - only go as far as you feel comfortable) - 7-10 reps each side Pair#2: Glider or cloth burpees (or you can do regular jumping burpees) - 50 sec Frog squats (they look funny but they hurt ) - 20 reps Pair #3: Shoulder taps to plank jack (with gliders/cloths or without) - 50 sec Kick out single leg/ partial roll up (Use your kick out leg to help you up but don't roll up too far! Keep hands on your head to make more difficult and swing arms to make easier) - 7-10 reps each side. Pair #4: Lateral jumps with extra squat jump (modification shown) - 50 sec Sit-ups - 10 reps, right to crunches (try and get your upper slightly off the ground if you can) - 10 reps. Swing arms to make easier (more momentum) or keep hands on your head to make more difficult.
