We are all missing our crewmates, times out on the water, and the regattas and races we were involved in before the COVID shutdown. OUTRIGGER NOTES First, a big shout out and thank you to Club members who have been adhering to the COVID safety protocols, to date. As a refresher to your memory, they include: * only 4 people are allowed in the shed at a time; no before or after-paddle mingling or socializing, please * remember to sanitize your hands and your boat (see emails from Joanne regarding the details for sanitizing the boats... * wear your mask while on the ramps and docks * social distance Second, there has been concern about adhering to the new local restrictions concerning movement between health regions, specifically Fraser Health and Vancouver Coastal health regions, based on knowing the boundaries of each. The first map shows the limits of the Fraser Health Region (basically Boundary Road in Vancouver and areas east to Boston Bar (off this included map). Vancouver Coastal Health Region is that area west of Boundary Road and up the Coast. Finally, remember to report your sessions and to fill in the online COVID health questionnaire. Very important to the report back to the Township of Langley. The reporting process is now split between Joyce May and Heather Fatkin ([email protected]). To make that the "just email us" part easier we've created an email address that's easy to remember - [email protected]. It will go to Joyce, Joanne and Heather. You can also email us at the usual individual email addresses - Joanne at [email protected], Joyce at [email protected] or Heather at [email protected]. Be kind, be calm, and be safe, as our Bonnie Henry would say.

Club V12 returns to dock on a sunny late autumn Sunday

Fort Langley Canoe Club 28.10.2020

OC News from Joanne (em: [email protected]) OC6 and OC1 availability continues as of November 9, 5 PM. The Club is closely monitoring the continual updates from BC Public Health and our policies will evolve with their recommendations. Given the new restrictions and recommendations in place for the next 2 weeks, the Club has seen that of the 21 cohorts which have identified themselves, for the next couple of weeks, only 8 teams are paddling and it is likely that ...some of those will hit the pause button as well. All Club regulations related to COVID remain in place for OC1 and for OC6. In particular, you are reminded to NOT CONGREGATE IN CLOSE PROXIMITY after your paddle. As well, we all MUST be more diligent about social distancing, using hand sanitizer, disinfecting the boats and wearing our masks to do our part to avoid a total shutdown. Thank you to everyone for being very responsible.
