The Fort Smith Curling and Winter Sport Centre would like to thank everyone who made this season a success! Without the support of our volunteers this couldn’t be done! Thank you Trevor Wetmore for organising and running our Little Rock’s program. The kids/guardians had a blast and learned a lot! Thank you Ryan Pfiefer and Chelsea Bradbury for keeping us hydrated and fed all season! A large part of our sport is the social component and you guys provided a bright spot for ou...r curlers on Friday nights during the long pandemic winter. A big shout out to our ice makers Jim Lockhart, Jeff O'keefe, and Jeff Clubine! The ice was better than expected :) . Seriously though, it was nice ice and we cannot wait for you to make it again next season! Lastly, we would like to thank our board. Kristen Wright (Secretary), Kim MacPherson (Treasurer), Jeff O'keefe (Vice President), and Jeff Clubine (President). This season was like no other! Thank you for giving up your time to support the club and we appreciate all the hard work that you have done over the season to make sure that curling continues in Fort Smith for many years to come. See you next fall!

As many of you are aware the GNWT recently announced its Emerging Wisely plan which outlines the path forward to emerging safely and wisely from the current COV...ID-19 public health restrictions. The document stated that curling could return when final measures are lifted. We want to notify our curling members that the NWT Curling Association (NWTCA) is working with the GNWT, Curling Canada, the Provincial/Territorial Curling Associations and Sport North in creating "Return to Curling Guidelines" that will enable curling to return this fall in a safe and responsible manner. The NWTCA will offer recommendations for club administrators, coaches, and anyone organizing curling-related activities. The NWTCA is committed to safe sport and will work with our partners over the coming weeks. If practiced responsibly, curling can be a great opportunity for participants to relieve stress, socialize with others, provide much-needed exercise and serve an important role in the NWT's recovery. Stay Safe! Nick Saturnino President, NWTCA
