We are pleased to announce that we have a new resource available! Patrons now have access to the entire library of over 16,000 courses from LinkedIn Learning for Library. All you need to access these features is your library card number and PIN. You can pick which topics you are interested in to fit them to your needs, and received a certificate upon successful completion of the course. LinkedIn Learning for Library includes courses in English, French, German, Japanese, Spani...sh, Mandarin, and Portuguese. We still have three boxes of National Geographic magazines (including some new donations), so if you're interested, they're available for free at the library.

The library annual general meeting will be held on Zoom May 18th at 6pm, and will be followed by the May Board meeting. Both meetings are open to anyone who wants to attend. Email [email protected] for information.

The Fort St. James Public Library is looking for photos from local teen photographers to decorate the young adult section! Contest open to photographers 13 19 years old. Photos can be taken using any medium (camera, phone, iPad, etc.) and are not limited to a topic or theme. The top three entries will be put on display in our Young Adult section, and will receive the following prizes: 1st Prize: $50 gift card to Indigo... 2nd Prize/3rd Prize: YA book and YA graphic novel Email [email protected] or visit the library in person to get more information and to collect your entry forms. Anyone appearing in the photo(s) who is not the photographer must fill out a Model Permission Form (available upon request). Maximum 5 entries per photographer. Contest ends March 1st, 2021.

The Fort St. James Public Library will be closed December 25th and 26th, 2020 and January 1st, 2021.

The Fort St. James Public Library is giving away free reindeer gift bags for our youngest patrons. These bags, decorated to look like reindeer, contain a greeting card to colour, a funny joke, an activity book, and a handmade ornament. Available while supplies last. If you do not want to come into the library, staff will gladly bring a bag (or bags) outside, just call ahead (250-996-7431) to let us know when you'll be arriving.
