The new platform balances stiffness, weight, and performance perfectly , while maintaining a playfulness suited for the everyday rider. Our buddy Chris just got a very insane new Orbea Occam, with custom paint and upgraded suspension done through Orbeas "My O" Program. Coming in at a feathery 31.6lb with pedals, spare @tubolitotubes, tire inserts and garmin mount, we were pretty impressed. Orbea is quickly winning our hearts with their amazing ride quality, they also do a great job of giving you a lot of bike for your dollar, and that's sick. The ability to chose 150mm travel instead of the stock 140 is an aw...esome option, it doesn't cost much and it makes the bike great for our rugged BC trails. Check out FSC mechanic Dan's late 80s Marinoni race stallion/ pub bike. This things built up with an older @campagnolosrl Chorus 10 speed groupset, a very elusive and elegant choice of componentry. Dan laced some Zipp 404 Tubluar hoops up and glued up some Vittoria tubs. A very fine wheel setup for evening cruises and pub runs. It has a very interesting finishing kit, Cinelli Anotomic Drop Bars with ergo power cable routing. Steve brought his @ride_bmc Roadmachine 01 with RED AXS in for a service, can't believe we forgot to post this one when he got it. This was a fun one to do, the stock build had us thinking there wasn't anything that needs upgrading but there was some cool changes Steve chose. It's rolling on some of the best wheels available, the @envecomposites AR Disc. The Groupset and finish is all top notch, from BMC's own carbon seatpost and integrated cockpit, and SRAM Red eTap AXS whi...ch delivers some absolutely fine shifting. The 1x setup he decided to switch to gives adequate range utilizing Srams 10-33 rear cassette. Steve says it's great for most hills. The cherry on top is the @fabriccycling ALM saddle weighing in at only 145g, and Arundel Mandible Carbon Cages, although they're a portly 28g this bike had some grams to spare for the bling factor. We're gonna have to take a moment and appreciate the spice factor of Phillips new @ride_bmc Roadmachine 01 Build. Phillip started with a Gen 1 Roadmachine 01 Module, a timeless classic and one of our most popular road bikes. He went for Shimano Ultegra and a @ceramicspeed... OSPW upgrade. Very spicy. He chose the @fizikofficial Antares 00 Adaptive Saddle. it's one of the most comfortable saddles we've had in the shop, and paired with the fine ride of a RM01 frame, it's one of the smoothest combos around, not to mention it looks cool as hell. He's rolling on some @maviccycling cosmic Carbon UST Disc wheels, and Continental Grand Prix 5000 rubber. Check out this classy, yet spicy frame-up rebuild we did on Tony's Titanium dream bike. Tony approached us wondering if he should get a new bike, but didn't know why. He had been riding this bike for nearly 2 decades. Turns out he just needed a few pounds shaved off the bike, and a few gears added, and this was the result, out with the 2003 Campagnolo Chrous , and in with the shiny new Chrous 12 speed. His favourite part about the new components is the ability to run a 34x3...4 climbing gear. We had to have his titanium front derailleur braze on tab re welded to do so, but you gotta do what you gotta do. We're big fans of horizontal top tubes , rim brakes, and mechanical shifting, especially when it's done right, and this is just that. Not only is Chrous 12 a very competitively priced groupset, it also offers extremely precise shifting, very strong rim brakes, and a beautiful finish. It's one of our favs for sure. He also chose to upgrade to Campagnolo Shamal Ultra C17 wheels, a truly badass set of aluminum hoops weighing in at only 1475g. They are tubeless compatible but he chose to run them with tubed with Continental Grand Prix 5000's. It went from 23 pounds to 18.5 with pedals, and he said he's never been faster on a bike. Jordan came In to get some mid summer upgrades on his @ride_bmc Team Machine SLR01 disc. He went for some new carbon wheels from DT Swiss, the two brands seem like they were made for each other.
