Fort Strength 08.01.2021

The Fort is a community, a community that was brought together by the love of CrossFit, but has become bigger than that. It’s what we do, it’s how we train, and that will never change. We strive to bring people together, without judgement and being all inclusive, to make us all excel and to be better. One man and his comment won’t change our community. Together we’ve be representing the CrossFit brand for 19+ years, and our future solely depends on HQ’s actions moving for...ward. We’ve waited a couple days to get the facts and let this all set in, and if there is no drastic change that happens, we will NOT re-affiliate. We will not support the CrossFit brand, if this problem persists. We don’t stand for what CEO Greg Glassman has done or said, and we won’t tolerate it. We need to speak up so that we aren’t part of the problem. We don’t fully understand, so we’ve waited to see how HQ will rectify this problem and make it right. We are learning and getting the facts to move forward. Glassman is one man, and together we are bigger. We want this to be about change and making people better and more aware, let’s see how he can change, and how HQ can make him and this situation forgivable. The thing we’ve always loved most about CrossFit is how it brings everyone together. All levels of ability, all races, all genders, all backgrounds...we come together as one, train as one, and always support one another. We are the Fort, so regardless of what happens, we love you all and are extremely thankful and grateful for each and everyone one of you that make us so strong. See more

We are welcoming a lot of new things at the Fort, first up is Katy Clark: Katy Clark has been passionate about athletics her entire life. She’s been an avid lacrosse player for over 16 years, which helped lead her to a career in Kinesiology. Since studying at the University of the Fraser Valley for her bachelors degree in Kinesiology, Katy has gained a vast knowledge of functional movement, sports injury rehabilitation, ICBC car accidents, and strength and conditioning. She has worked as the Head Trainer of a local men’s Rugby league for three years, and has also trained hockey and lacrosse teams in the past. She is so excited to be a part of the Fort Strength team. Welcome Katy!!
