Self-care is important all year round, but especially so during this pandemic and holiday season
We know that the phrase 'hindsight is 2020' is about 20/20 vision, but the year 2020 has been anything but clear. In a year that was meant to hold significance for vision, we have instead faced a 'new normal' life, a global health crisis, a sudden provincial election, and Zoom fatigue. This year has truly been anything but ordinary. As with many things this year, BCFFPA has learned to adapt to what 2020 has brought us. That's because we are governed and inspired by dedicated... and resilient foster parents who are doing the hard work, day in and day out. Although COVID-19 has disrupted the connections that sustain us all, we are always here to support you. We hope that you and your family stay well and safe. We wish you a holiday season full of joy, warmth, and love. *Please note that the BCFFPA Provincial Office will be closed for the holidays from December 19th to January 3rd.
Mitzi Dean, Minister of Children and Family Development and the ministry (MCFD) are pleased to invite all foster parents to a video townhall session with Dr. Daniele Behn Smith, Aboriginal Health Physician Advisor of the Provincial Health Office (PHO) on December 17, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. No RSVP is needed please use this link after 1 p.m. to watch the townhall: https://www2.gov.bc.ca//f/covid-19-information/caregivers Dr. Behn Smith will be unable to take live questions, but they have collected your questions regarding the current Provincial Health Office orders and restrictions. Dr. Behn Smith will clarify the restrictions and answer questions about in-person visitation/connections.
