FELSKE: Arnold Arnold Winston Emanuel Felske, age 94 of Nokomis, Saskatchewan, passed away peacefully Saturday November 28, 2020. Arnold was born July 18, 1926 on the family farm just west of Nokomis, to parents Emanuel and Wanda Felske. He grew up on the farm and as the eldest of six children, he experienced farm life at an early age. While growing up through the "dirty thirties life was extremely difficult. Arnold married Phyllis in 1951 and continued with farm life wi...th Phyllis and his three sons. As well as farming he maintained the roads in the municipality, helped build homes and would lend a hand to family and friends, and the local community when he could. He also drove the school bus for many years, picking up country kids early in the morning for school and driving them home in the afternoon. Retirement from the farm came early from health issues, but a hobby was started, wood working took on a new meaning for him. Moving into Nokomis, building a new home with a garage that was later overtaken by all his wood working tools and supplies. Arnold is survived by his two sons and their spouses, Doug and Marlene, and Ben and Pat; five grandchildren, Jayson (Kara), Shayne (Stacey), Rob, Rick, and Mattea (Shane); 8 great grandchildren, Savannah, Koen, Memphis, Peyton, Jordyn, Avah, Emersyn and Theodore; sister Muriel Jasko. He is predeceased by his wife Phyllis, and son Winston, as well as his parents Emanuel and Wanda, brothers and sisters, Maeolla, Phyllis, Lloyd, and Ron. Arnold was a creative and hard working man. He will be missed by many! A graveside memorial service will be held at the Nokomis Cemetery at a later date. MATHESON: Donald September 26, 1934 - November 21, 2020 Donald Matheson passed away on November 21, 2020 at the Long Lake Valley Integrated Care Facility in Imperial, Saskatchewan. Donald was born in Regina, Saskatchewan on September 26, 1934. He was predeceased by his parents Donald John (Dan) Matheson and Katie Belle (MacKenzie) Matheson of Regina, both previously from Prince Edward Island, and his brothers James Gordon and Earl William Matheson who previously lived in Sask...atoon and British Columbia. He is survived and will be missed by his sister Agnes Catherine Heaslip (Robert) who resides in Ottawa, Ontario and several nephews and nieces. Donald was employed for many years as a bowling alley pin setter and also as a caretaker at the YMCA in Regina. The Funeral Services will be in Fotheringham's Funeral Chapel in Watrous on Monday, November 30th at 1 p.m,, conducted by Rev Jo-Ann Hills of the United Church Interment will follow Imperial Cemetery. LLOYD: Donald Robert 1941 2020 Don Lloyd, late of Arlington Beach, Sask. passed away peacefully on November 6th, 2020 at the age of 79 years surrounded by his family. He was a grateful member of AA for 53 years. He had Primary Progressive Aphasia that was very difficult for him. Don was predeceased by his parents, Bert and Doris, half-brother Alfred and half-sisters Anina and Peggy; and father-in-law John Fenton. He is survived by his wife of 46 years Lois, son Tyler (Joan...), daughter Stephanie (Derek), sister Marie (Reg), and brothers Barry (Arlene), and Ed (Vicki) and sister-in- laws Bonnie, Jackie, and Darlene(Terry), and brother- in -laws Robert (Debbie) and Gordon (Shelley) and Harvey (Crystal); mother-in-law Kathy Fenton; and many special nephews and nieces as well as a lot of friends. Don was a generous, caring and supportive person. He loved to drive and drove in every state and province in North America. He has a good sense of humour, and enjoyed many years of hunting and fishing with his friends and family. Don was a loving husband, father, a wonderful uncle and a great mentor to many. He was always thinking of others so he did this and it was the greatest sacrifice for us. Due to Covid-19 restrictions a private graveside service will be held at Govan Cemetery. EDWARDS: Ken Ken was born on the homestead where he lived on August 10, 1931, the youngest of 5 children. He loved the farm, continuing to farm all his working life. He had a love of sports, playing, coaching and participating at board levels. He was part of the Nokomis hockey team that won Provincial C playoffs in 1967. He was also very proud of making the SK Sr. Team for the Canadian Golf Nationals in 1987. Ken attended many golf events over the years and made many friend...s through sports. Ken met Ruth in Nokomis and married in December 1957. It was a match made in heaven, they had 7 children with everyone working together on the farm. Ken & Ruth, with friends enjoyed many golf holidays seeing new countries and many new golf courses. Ken believed in hard work but also insisted that everyone needed to have some fun in their lives too. Ken was very community minded, helping with other volunteers to build the golf course and the current Rec facility. He was always there to help neighbors if they needed. He was so very proud of all his children and grandchildren, saving any and all newspaper clippings of any events they may have attended or done well at. He was very interested in what everyone was doing and if they had time to golf. Ken & Ruth spent 20 years of their retirement wintering in Texas where they did lots of golfing, playing cards and having fun with new and old friends. The last couple of years were spent at College Park in Regina where they made more friends, Ken was happy to come home for the end of his life, Nokomis was always where he wanted to be. He passed away at Nokomis Health Centre on Nov 2nd after a brief battle with cancer. Ken is predeceased by his parents, E.J. and Alice Edwards, siblings, Jack (Emma) Edwards, Robert (Peggy) Edwards, Gladys (Cecil) Simpson, Phyllis (Charles) Rennie and parents in law Jack & Wanda Brewer. He leaves to mourn his wife of 62 years, Ruth, children Lois (Barry) Mortenson, Bill (Ev) Edwards, Judi (Brad) Wearing, Tom (Cheryl) Edwards, Richard Edwards, Jean (Trevor) Blair, Gary (Leah) Edwards, 22 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and many friends. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Nokomis Golf Club or Nokomis Cemetery Committee. Due to COVID, a private family graveside service will be held on Nov 10th. McLaren: Robert K. (Bob) September 3, 1925 October 18, 2020 Robert Knox McLaren was born September 3, 1925 at Drake, Saskatchewan and passed away at Central Parkland Lodge in Lanigan, Saskatchewan October 18, 2020 at the age of 95. Bob attended Otterburn school until grade 8 and Drake High School for grade 9 and 10. He grew up on the farm east of Drake, milking cows and working the land with horses. He spoke of trips north to cut firewood and the many varieties of livest...ock they had. Bob spent a couple of winters working in Saskatoon and in Ontario. Bob married Ida Assman October 17, 1958 and they lived and farmed at Drake, 2 miles west of where he grew up. He was very active in sports all his life including playing, coaching, and mentoring in baseball, hockey, and curling. He was also very dedicated to the community in many aspects. He was a very respected and loved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and will be greatly missed. Bob was predeceased by his father (Robert McLaren Sr.) and mother (Gladys Reade); sisters Tena and Jean; and brother John. He is survived by his wife Ida; daughters Denise (Herm) Friesen; Jaclyn Friesen, Taron and Jacey; Laura Friesen (Mark Helstrom) and Dawn McLaren (Marty Glover); Rylee McLaren; Kristen Omar Simms, Jayden and Trey; Tom -Amanda Glover, Hayley, Hannah, and Grace; Marc Glover; and son Duane (Kerri) McLaren, Krishia McLaren John Fettes, Isla; Kenadi McLaren.
