We are so excited to welcome our new nurse, Cianna to the Foundry team! Cianna will be extending our nursing hours of availability to Monday-Friday from 11:00am-5:00pm . She has a lot of experience supporting new moms, as well as perinatal substance use, breastfeeding support, STIs, Opioid Addictions Treatment support, and sexual health. Join us in welcoming her! Her bio:... Role with Foundry: Community Health Nurse Clinical areas of interest: Primary care, Reproductive Health, Harm Reduction, Mental Health, and Addiction Why you chose to work at Foundry: I'm excited to help guide and empower young people, to take control of their health and well-being. I enjoy working in a low barrier environment that supports person-centred care. Favorite food: Peanut butter If you had a super power, what would it be? Teleportation - get places fast and easily see my favourite people who are dispersed around the province If you could change something in the world, what would it be: I wish humans could be a bit more kind and accepting towards each other Favourite quote: "Always ask the turtle" - Gloria Steinam Favourite thing to do in Prince George: I love getting outside and exploring what Prince George and the surrounding area has to offer on hikes If you could travel anywhere, where would you go? It's not exotic or overly exciting to some, but I had a road-trip up the Alaska Highway planned with a good friend for the summer of 2020. We were going to sea kyak on Anchorage and see some glaciers and icebergs! I hope to actually do this trip when safe and possible. What do you do to get calm and grounded? Going for a run or walk outside helps me to feel grounded. I've also been enjoying using the "Balance" app for meditation and have recently learned to knit which I find meditative as well. Snuggles with my geriatric cat (Misty, age 18) help me to get calm.
