Getting food to the markets within and outside the Columbia Basin has consistently been identified as the top barrier and opportunity for food processors and farmers in our region. High transportation costs also negatively impacts getting in goods and supplies for businesses operating here. OUR LOCAL FOOD INDUSTRY WILL CONTINUE TO STRUGGLE UNLESS WE DO SOMETHING ABOUT OUR DISTRIBUTION ISSUES. The more information we are able to gather, the better our proposed solutions will... be and with the goal of lowering the barriers and increasing the opportunities for food producers in the Basin. The CBT commissioned this study so we know what we can act on to fix this problem. DON'T MISS THIS CHANCE TO HAVE YOUR SAY! Please take 10 minutes to complete this short survey BEFORE July 16th. And please share with everyone that you know who is a food processor or farmer located in the Columbia Basin. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/cbtagdisttranslog
Change is coming. All politics aside, are we (the food industry) prepared? This will significantly shift the economic playing field and though the conversation on dollars and food can be a touchy one, we CAN certainly expect that some things will just cost more.
We place so much trust into our food producers. Thank you to those who have our safety, health and well-being on their radar!
Proposed regulations for cannabis "edibles" have been published. Are you ready? (If you want a copy, contact me, I'll e-mail you. I couldn't figure out how to attach a document here!).
