Would like to do a big 'Shout Out' to Chad Millar and the crew down at CHTK. We had to close down for a little over 2 months due to covid and we had our ad running on the Bell Media network which we forgot (lots on our mind) to cancel for the time being. Chad was very understanding as our lack of business had run our funds down bigtime and he was able to stop our ad and credit us. That was fantastic as it has meant we could climb out of our deficit with way less stress and uncertainty....thanks Chad...you guys 'Rock'!

So we got the best phone call today that really drives home why we do the work we do here at Four Hands...the Ministry of Health ordered all Personal Services t...o shut down on March 21st and we are now 28 days into Self Isolation. This has been very hard thing to do cancelling all our clients off both here and the trip we had planned to Haida Gwaii but we did what we had to do! So this morning the phone rings and its one of our clients here that wants to pay us for a session that she had to forego because of the shutdown and even though it was no fault of hers she was quite worried that we might not survive much longer financially and she wanted to help somehow so when this was over we would be around to help her and others....wow...it was hard with the upwelling of emotion to even answer that her offer was so very generous but not to worry that we would make it through this one way or the other! She is on a pension and she offered this....super humbling, and the gratitude and love we are feeling around the work we do and how people receive it, is what keeps us going...again...WOW... Covid 19 and more.... Sue and I have been mulling this over for several days now as more info and data is coming forward. There has been a ton of stuff on our R...olfing chatline about this too with lots of Rolfers shutting their businesses down. We feel that some of this is overreacting to the media hype but there is a real issue about potential spreading of the virus. Our whole Rolfing career/business/way of life centers around pain relief, health and the pursuit of which again directly affects the all important immune system. People that come to us are in that pursuit and if we can help them with the type of work we do to ease pain and raise/maintain the immune system then we have to believe its one of the best ways to beat this and other threats to our well being! We also trust the intelligence and wisdom of the person coming to us that they will know if they are not feeling healthy enough to receive our work and will wait until they are....one of the great things about this job is that we hardly ever get sick people coming in, heck, even people hung over from overindulging in liquor will call and cancel because they just don't feel strong enough for our work! Several of the Rolfers have voiced this too and are continuing to work on the people that want it so we are going to stay the course and help as many people as we can to get their immune systems as strong as possible. We already have a disinfection protocol in place and will adjust as info becomes available. We are relaxing our cancellation policy in light of how people are deciding to self isolate but we hope new clients won't take advantage of that when they book an appt. with us. A friend of mine posted this earlier today and I haven't been able to stop thinking about it. Seriously, it has affected me pretty profoundly, especially the p...art about being able to see what being overweight looks like on the outside but not really being able to see what it's doing internally. Just the motivation I need to continue making healthy food choices and exercising. My body is God's temple and I MUST do all I can to take care of it! "This image shows a 250 lb woman on the left and a 120 lb woman on the right. We can see weight gain from the outside, but we usually can't see what it's doing on the inside. Look at the fat surrounding the organs in the woman on the left. Do you also see the fat around her heart and around her brain? A little scary, isn't it? Look at the compression around the stomach and internal organs. Do you think that would have any impact on GERD and indigestion? Look at the compressed knee joints. Do you think those joints ache a little more than they should? I know it can be hard to get healthy but isn't your life / your health / you being comfortable in your own body (inside and out) worth it???"

Not THE blue cow you think. This is Fairlife milk. It is an ultra-filtered milk like the Canadian product Joyya. Except it is made with 100% American milk. The... Coca-Cola company is building a plant in Ontario to produce this product, but until completed it is importing it from the USA. This is over and above the amounts allowed in the recent trade deals. The projected finish date is 2020, so that is replacing a lot of Canadian milk consumption. It has been implied to Dairy Producers in Canada that any increased consumption of dairy, and any investment in the dairy industry, is a good thing, and therefore we should be careful to not demonize the brand. I can't say that I have ever agreed, but in recent times the promotion and advertisements for Fairlife are greatly increasing. Two things this week have made me decide to post this, and inform consumers, so they can be aware. Firstly, I saw this in the display case of my local grocery. Fairlife is prominantly displayed front and center. Secondly, we saw a new Fairlife commercial on TV last night. It now contains the by-line "Quality Canadians expect and love". It looks to me like they are using the words quality and Canadian in an attempt to mislead consumers into erroneously thinking this is Canadian milk. Make your own decisions about Fairlife milk, but just be aware it is not local like the rest of the milk in your dairy case, and it is not Canadian. As Dairy Producers, we are grateful to consumers that seek out the Blue Cow, because we know you will be enjoying a quality product and we thank you for your support of our industry. #cdndairy #littlebluecow

So we received a wonderful package in the mail of several copies of the BC Car Accident Recovery Manual from Coric Law in Vancouver. This manual is very well written with a point by point list to do in case you are ever in a vehicle accident for future dealings with ICBC. And yes, ICBC has their own manual for people to use but this one is for people to use to protect themselves properly before things go awry. We have extra copies here if you or someone you know might benefit from this great manual free of charge.

So I ordered these food wraps from this place in Brackendale and just tried them out on a brick of cheese and a lemon. I want to see how fresh they stay....pretty neat stuff by the way...they just folded right around quite nicely....now they aren't cheap but they last for a year or more so if thats less plastic in the landfill I'm good with that....and they included a lil painting by Katherine Homes that you can see in the picture...how cool is that!!!

Went up to the Salmon Glacier by Stewart this weekend for some much needed down time with Sue....this is the 'Toe' of the Salmon Glacier...what a beautiful rugged place...

Here at Four Hands we try to give the best service possible to our clients so when we in turn run into reciprocal service we like to share that. A couple of months ago we received a letter from Kia Canada about the vehicle we had bought to replace our Mazda Tribute. We have been extremely happy with the Sportage as it fits all our stuff when we go over to Haida Gwaii for our work/grandkids trips and everything we are doing around here. The letter stated that they 'were increa...sing the engine warranty to 10 years or 200000 kms. whichever came first! There had been some Kia's developing a knock in the engine and if we hear that sound to take it in right away and they will fix it...no charge...no problem! I had to reread the letter several times to make sure I got it right...I had never received a letter like this from any of the other vehicle manufactures and I have had several over the years. This, to me is outstanding customer service and I thought I would like to share this experience with you. I wish more businesses operated under these standards! Just a bunch of pics ranging from Sue doing Cranial Sacral Therapy, a beautiful hummingbird pendant carved by Paul Rosang on Haida Gwaii to Advanced Rolfing training in Edmonton, Alberta this last summer. We also hosted a Rolfing retreat on North Beach and learned how to make Saurkraut....we are always busy doing something/going somewhere at Four Hands Body Renewal!!!!

This looks a lot more affordable and fun way to do up my sauerkraut and carrots etc. I hope Holly gets her updated recipes on her site soon to take the guesswork out of how much to pack into the jars. We have several clients here at Four Hands Body Renewal that have taken Holly up on her Sauerkraut Challenge and hope to hear about their experiences with making these phenomenally healthy products.....

I posted an article similar to this last year and recieved some criticism so this article has a bit more meat to it...I still haven't had a chance to compile a list of poses that men probably shouldn't do when they ask me during our Rolfing sessions how to prolong the benefits of their Rolfing! I hope you find the information in this article usefull regardless when you take up any kind of exercise/therapy to address an injury or just want to feel better....

We buy some of Tom's syrup at the Farmers Market every chance we get....it is always selling out fast so aren't always successful and it is sure good! We have been drizzling it on our salmon before smoking it and of course on pancakes it's fantastic.....wonderful smoky flavor, much different than maple syrup....
