I'm delighted to announce that Whispering Springs in Grafton has added me to their preferred Wedding Officiants list. The perfect place to elope! Why wait?

The second wedding of the day was in Brighton, outside beside the lake. It was a wee bit drizzly, but spirits were bright. They will having another ceremony a little later in the year, when their family can join in the merriment.

Today was a two show day. The first wedding was held at the family home. Magically, they brought the outdoors in, due to the rain.

Today’s wedding was held at The Mill In Cobourg. It was simple and elegant, especially with all guests wearing matching masks. The room was decorated with the greatest of care by Jo Anne Davison of Garden Girl Event Rentals.

Well, it official. The Queen of England has cancelled all Garden Parties for 2021. So, let's talk about what really is important where OUR important events are planned in 2021. Those of my couples who planned to be married last year (2020) and rescheduled to this year, may find that they will be asked to once again reschedule to 2022. Following are some experiences I had last year in 2020 where Covid loomed large, but love persevered.

As I write, I am awaiting the arrival of the vows for a wedding to be performed this afternoon. I know for a fact, that the longer you wait to make them perfect, the harder it will be. ONE of my FAVOURITE stories is of the Bride who never did get her vows to me before the wedding began. She told me not to "sweat" it. Considering it was over 96 degrees in the shade, it was hard not to. In fact, the bodacious Maid of Honour had water pouring from every pore, as she made her ...way down the aisle. A heat stroke followed. When we began the ceremony, the bride arrived from beneath the pine trees as she had always dreamed. When it came to the vows, the Bride began to pull the crumpled up toilet paper from her bosom on which she had tried to write her vows while getting dressed. She attempted to smooth it out, but it was starting to disintegrate and the ink had become unreadable. She stopped. Crumpled it up and tossed it over her shoulder saying, "I just love you, love you, love you." and that was that. It was perfect. I say, when in doubt, just speak from your heart. Don't sweat it.

Nothing lovelier than a wedding in the woods in the Fall.
