This #volvo #v70r needed a rear brake makeover, so we decided to upgrade them and solve a common issue at the same time. We sourced a set of larger vented brakes from a later model R. Ted at @sublimesurfacing took the used calipers and brackets down to the metal, and then we powder coated them gloss black in-house to protect them and get them looking good. Those of you with P80 awd cars might be familiar with the rear brake hose issue, namely that the rubber lines rub on the wheels and wear through, especially wit...h plus sized wheels. We've tried every brand, including Volvo o.e.m and they just don't sit properly. IPD has a stainless line kit, but they're patterned off the oe lines and don't solve the issue of the line pointing straight in to the wheel out of the caliper. We've developed a stainless line set that copies the early Volvo line which is no longer available, and has a swivel fitting and a bend away from the wheel immediately after it leaves the caliper. They aren't inexpensive, but are a permanent solution to a problem that should have never existed in the first place. See more
