Hope you are all enjoying these beautiful winter days. https://pin.it/3DW01Zi
To all the Boarders of Fox Hollow Farm, I am posting the recent recommendations from equine Canada. As you are aware, we are in the middle of a health crisis and I would like to ask the following of our boarders in an effort to provide the safest environment for our staff and my family. (my husband, Dave, travelled to California and Tennessee in March so we are also concerned about minimizing his exposure to boarders while we self isolate to ensure he is not infected.) Eq...uine Canada is recommending that boarding facilities shut their doors to essential people only. We would like to ask the following of our boarders but may need to reassess in the near future. 1. Please restrict your visits to the farm whenever possible 2. Stay a minimum of 10 feet away from staff and family members while at the farm 3. Do not bring dogs or extra people to the farm. Do not pet or play with the farm dogs since they come into our home. 4. Stay home if you have any symptoms at all or if you have travelled abroad recently. We will take care of your horse and want to ensure the staff will be here to do so for the duration of this health crisis. 5. Restrict your movements on the farm to areas that you need to access. We will reassess the situation on a day to day basis and will keep you posted here. THIS IS THE STATEMENT FROM EQUINE CANADA Recommendations for Equestrian Facility Operations Due to federal, provincial/territorial and local government recommendations on the movement of individuals, as well as the current states of emergency declared by provinces/territories, EC and the PTSOs recommend that all facilities that host equestrian-related activities, including but not limited to boarding stables and lesson barns, cease public-facing and non-essential activities until greenlit by the aforementioned government authorities. All levels of government in Canada have publicly and repeatedly communicated that everyone in the country should be practicing social distancing to reduce their exposure to other people and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau declared that all Canadians should stay home. Therefore, EC and the PTSOs recommend that facilities that host equestrian-related activities only allow personnel needed to take care of the facilities and our equine partners on their premises. This includes facility owners, facility managers, equine caretakers, providers of equine-related essential services (e.g. veterinarians, farriers), and boarders or owners providing equine-related minimum standards of care*. Non-essential personnel, including students, friends, family, the public, and boarders or owners who are not providing equine-related minimum standards of care*, are encouraged to remain off the premises.
It was very hot but I am happy to announce that our first cut of hay is done and in the barn. It is beautiful and the horses will be very happy to see it in their feeders. Stay Cool folks and see you at the farm.
Sent to me by a friend, thought I would share
The owners, Lorraine and Dave, along with Elizabeth and the rest of the barn staff are happy to announce that Sharon Sadler will be returning to Fox follow farm next week. She has been missed. Welcome back Sharon
Hi Everyone, I wanted to send an invitation and a reminder about our Charity event this weekend. We will be holding a Euchre Tournament in the Riding arena on June 11th, the arena will be unavailable for riding from Friday afternoon until Monday to allow for set up and clean up. You are all welcome to attend and I hope to see some of you there. Don't worry if you don't know how to play. We can teach you or you can just join in the other activities. Let me know if you would like tickets, $25 each and the proceeds support Schoolbox, a great organization that builds much needed schools in Nicaragua.
Jessie and Gypsy <3 happy horses in their stalls
This is what we should all be aspiring to.
The Fox Hollow Farm Gang took over the Pakenham Parade this year. Great group of Christmas elves to have represent us!!
Thanks to our fantastic boarders who carved additional trails through our property to create this wonderful riding experience for all. You are simply the best!!!
Nothing prettier than a field full of horses.
