Dear Firebird Families, We hope this email finds all of you healthy and doing well. Todays email is to provide you with an update regarding our Return to Learn plans. For more information about the TVDSB plans, please access https://www.tvdsb.ca/en/our-board/return-to-learn.aspx... As you may have heard, Thames Valley District School Board has announced new plans about the First Day of School for Full Remote Learning and Staggered Start for In-Person Elementary Students. FULL REMOTE LEARNING ELEMENTARY STUDENTS The first day of school for all students in Full Remote Learning will be Monday, September 14. Families of Full Remote learners will hear from their childs teacher during the week of September 8, 2020. IN PERSON ELEMENTARY STUDENTS STAGGERED START Elementary students who are attending In-Person, will have a staggered start. Each school will divide their student population into two groups, alphabetically, to keep families together. We recognize that some families have multiple different last names, please attend on the days closest to the beginning of the alphabet (e.g. Family members with the last names Ford, Lecce, Trudeau would attend in Group 1). At Forest Park Public School Group 1 Families with the Last Name starting with A to L will attend school on Monday, September 14 and Tuesday, September 15. Group 2 Families with the Last Name starting with M to Z will attend on Wednesday, September 16 and Thursday, September 17. All students will attend on Friday, September 18. All students in our Special Education Accelerate Class have the option to attend every day beginning Monday, September 14. This provides our students time to learn, understand, and be comfortable with the many new routines that will be a part of the normal school day. We want you to know we are doing everything we should be doing, working in collaboration with our public health partners and based on Ministry of Education direction. We require this time to re-organize our system for re-opening safely. As we finalize our specific Forest Park plans, we will be sharing them with you, along with maps and photos/videos so you are prepared for our first days of school. We appreciate your patience and understanding and can not wait to see everyone on their designated first day. See you soon, Mrs. Richards and Mrs. Sacksen

Elgin County Council and staff recognize the accomplishments of all of our students as they successfully completed another educational year in these unprecedent...ed circumstances. It is time to celebrate our students, teachers and parents who have adjusted to the new learning environment to successfully complete another school year despite being away from the classroom since mid-March stated Elgin County Warden Dave Mennill. The following are some of the many ways Elgin County is recognizing students and graduates of 2020: During the week of June 22nd to June 26th, residents and businesses are encouraged to decorate and light up their properties in recognition of all students, culminating in Go Gold for Grads on Thursday, June 25, to recognize the graduating class of 2020. Displays of gold and yellow lights are encouraged. All digital boards at the Elgin County Administration Building, long-term care homes and library branches will display the message You Did It! Congratulations Class of 2020. Local municipal partners will also be coordinating displays in their respective communities Read the full press release below Municipality of West Elgin The Municipality of Dutton Dunwich Township of Southwold Municipality of Central Elgin Township of Southwold Thames Valley District School Board London District Catholic School Board
