Flood Prediction Lab 29.10.2020

Happy #EarthDay! River levels are looking good in Freddy so far! A prediction of a small decrease of 0.5 meters tomorrow for a predicted level of around 4.33 meters. Water is still higher than normal but is on a slow decline. Forecasts for Sunday and Mondy are expected to bring high temperatures and lots of precipitation so we may expect a rise then. Stay safe! We've built upon our flood simulation model, this time utilizing LiDAR data from the HRDEM (https://www.nrcan.gc.ca//high-resolution-digital-ele/22350) A newer more detailed version of our simulation model is available on our site. Chunks of LiDAR data is still missing for the time being so this is definitely a work in progress. However, improvements in detail are substantial! Our model can be found here:... https://blinking02.users.earthengine.app/view/simu2 Warning to users with slow internet and cpu speed, it might take a long time to load since data from LiDAR has a large size.
