I have just teamed up with the wonderfully talented @arleighwood to create an artist series mask collection. These masks are based on a series of work that she has completed over the last year. All three of the masks are very special as $1 from every purchase goes to support Canadian breast cancer research @breastcancersoc. The fabric is 100% organic cotton, always 3 layers with adjustable ear straps and metal nose piece. Please head over to www.aniseanddill.com to purchase directly. #artmask #arleighwoodmask #masksinaseries #makermasks #masks #masksforall #madeincanadamasks #3layermask #pandemicmasks #polypropylenefilter #adjustableearloops #latexfreemasks #fabricmasks #reusablemask #masksmadeincanada

Did you know we are now producing winter FLEECE masks? These masks are perfect for the ski hill or being outside during winter. Aside from being very cozy the best part about them is they stay dry! No more wet neck tubes or wet cotton face coverings. The fleece is on the inside and the outer layer is a nylon that stays dry as well. Same adjustable ear loops. Same great quality. Available in kid sizes as well! Go to www.aniseanddill.com for all the cosy details

Another amazing Textile artist that I have had the pleasure of knowing for several years now is Tracy Fillion of @we.are.stories. Tracy is living the artists dream in the Kooteneys, British Columbia. Her work is sublime! I admire her integrity of craft and passion for textiles. All her garments are made of the finest fabrics and most of them are one of a kind. She incorporates her handcrafted materials in so many of her pieces. She has been exploring natural dyeing, eco printing, weaving and the results are perfection. Her work is worthy of collecting as you will have these pieces forever and will enjoy them year after year. Her social feeds are a delight to follow and you can find her shop at www.wearestorieshandmade.com.

My next favorite artist I would like to share with you is the fourth founding member of the Shiny Fuzzy Muddy Show, Janna Hurtzig. I met Janna over 20 years ago when she was building her Astrosatchel bag empire. She was a talented designer and craftsperson as well as a savvy business lady. We were lucky that she agreed to join the show as Astrosatchel was all the rage in Vancouver those days. Several years after that she started a new brand, @winterluxe, recycled cashmere ac...cessories. Each piece is assembled from discarded cashmere treasures. Always unique and one-of-a-kind Janna would tour the country doing all the heavy hitting craft shows in the fall, building her product line all year long until the winter season. This year I feel artists like her are hit especially hard as there are no Christmas craft shows happening. BUT, never one to rest on her laurels she got her online shop up and running and we all couldn’t be happier! You can find all her amazing pieces at www.shopwinterluxe.com See more

I can’t say enough about this wonderful lady and mixed media artist @arleighwood. We have a long history together, our paths crossing at many junctures and thru mutual interests. She is another founder of the Shiny Fuzzy Muddy Show and has been a participant of the Vancouver Eastside Cultural cCrawl for over 20 years. Her talents run deep and her creativity is constantly evolving. She sees the world through a lens wide open and turns what she sees into paintings of poetry. She is a wonderful friend, an inspiring mother, a great dancer and a lover of life. Find her paintings, large and small here: www.arleighwood.com

The first artist I would like to showcase is my good friend and super talented jeweler @kariwoojewelry. I met Kari in the early 2000s at the Alberta College of Art design in Calgary. She has the true soul of an artist and spent her days soaking up as much knowledge as she could from all the instructors and talent surrounding her. We were attracted to each other’s design sense and the idea that as artists and makers we could build a business and become self sustaining professi...onals. Shortly after, we started the Shiny Fuzzy Muddy show in Vancouver which carried on to become one of the more successful art and craft shows in the city for over 17 years. Kari is a master of simplicity. She does amazing custom rings and has a successful line of jewelry that is versatile and timeless. If you’re lucky you can get in on her earring of the month club which is the most amazing gift that just keeps on giving. Check out all the wonderfulness that is Ms. Kari Woo at www.kariwoo.com

My good friend and super talented @kariwoojewelry sent this out today. We need to do this everyday and especially throughout the holiday shopping season. Small business will die if we don’t it’s as simple as that. I am missing all my art and craft show buddies right now. If you can’t go to craft shows please shop from your favorite artist/entrepreneur online. I will be posting over the next several weeks work from some of my favorite creative talents that I have had the pleasure of meeting and working with over years. In no particular order.... cuz they are all #1! #shoplocal #shinyfuzzymuddy #artist #maker #talent #savesmallbusiness #madeincanada
