Frandsen Sour Cherry U-Pick Orchard

We will be opening our U-Pick Sour Cherry Orchard on Friday, August 7th, 2020. Our hours will be 8:00 am to 8:00 pm daily until the cherries are all gone. We are located in the Christopher Lake area just off of Hwy 263. Watch for our signs about 2 km west of the hamlet of Christopher Lake, at Dochylo Road and follow the signs to our orchard at #24 Dochylo Road. U-Pick cherries are $3 a pound and we accept cash, credit or debit cards. This is a great way for family and frien...ds to enjoy an outdoor activity while observing physical distancing. Hi Everyone, in spite of the recent warm weather the cherries are developing but are not ready to pick yet. I expect it will take another week or more before they will be ripe enough for picking. I will keep you informed on this Facebook page as to the progress they are making. You can also ask questions on this page or call me at 306-314-2446 if you have questions that are not answered by this post. We now have an actual address for our location near Christopher Lake! Our r...ural address is 24 Dochylo Road. you can find the sign for Dochylo Road about 2 km west of the Christopher Lake townsite on Hwy 263. Hello everyone, this is my first post for the summer of 2020 and I just want to let you know what is happening. As a result of the cool wet Spring and Summer this year the cherry crop is a little delayed. I don't know exactly when the cherries will be ready to pick but it will likely be a little later than last year. I suspect it will be about the end of the first week in August, but I will keep your posted on this page. There should be no problem in opening and having a safe... and enjoyable picking experience in spite of Covid-19. It will be easy to stay physically distanced while picking in the orchard as each bush is 6 feet apart and there are many rows to pick from as well. Any containers that we provide for picking will be sanitized between users and we will accept credit card or cash for payment when done. We will wear masks in the shop while in contact with our customers. Looking forward to seeing you again or for the first time this year. Keep watching this page. Just want to let you all know that our U-Pick is closed for the season and would like to thank all our customers for our best season ever. We look forward to seeing you back in our orchard next year. Just for your information this year our season started later than normal and, therefore, also ran later than usual, so don't be complacent next year when we open or you could miss out on cherries like happened to many people last year. This is your last chance to pick fresh sour cherries for the year. Only 3 days left until we close the orchard on Wednesday evening, August 21. We are continuing with the "Cherry Share" until we close so we can clean up the orchard and not leave too many of these great tasting cherries to the birds.
