To our Maddock family, We know the announcement yesterday has raised many questions. We understand that there may be some confusion as we are in a unique situation from the rest of the province in that we were scheduled to return to in-class instruction tomorrow. As the online instruction does not begin until Friday, we will be open for students to attend school on Thursday May 6. We want to ensure that our families know their students are welcome to attend on Thursday to ...connect with their teachers or pick up any materials needed for the next 2 weeks of online learning, but also that we understand and accept if families choose not to send their student to school for the one day. Our staff will be flexible on Thursday to accommodate both in class and online learners. Students who are not planning to attend in person will not be penalized for not being present in person and should log in to their google classroom for instructions from their individual teachers as to what the expectations online will be for that day. Community Program available to FMHS Gr 9 Students: St. Anthony's Parish - Drayton Valley will begin a Confirmation Program for students in Grade 7 to 9. The Program is "Decision Point" by The Dynamic Catholic Institute. It will be a combination of Workbook/Online Videos completed every day or every second day and some Zoom Sessions once every 2 weeks with Angela Horne. The Program is set up very well to be done at Home with Excellently Produced Online Videos and Personal Work...book Questions. Every 2 weeks there will be a Zoom Connect with Mrs. Horne. In the Zoom session they will Pray Together, Recap their Journey and Catechize. We will provide workbooks and everything else is online. Mrs. Horne is very happy to help as little or as much as Parent's need and is happy to assist Parent's with Answer Keys to help them feel more confident. These frigid temperatures don't seem to be abating yet! WRSD has canceled all bus routes for tomorrow, Wednesday, February 10. Schools will remain open. Hopefully the weather will start to turn the corner soon.

WRSD has had a number of COVID cases within our schools and also students being affected from outside close contacts.
