WHO LIKES WINE?....WHO LIKES TO DO SOMETHING GOOD FOR OTHERS...THEN JOIN ME FOR - WINE SURVIVOR!!!! Okay Facebook friends please take 2 seconds out of your day to read this for me...I don't often ask you guys for much, but I would be so truly thankful for your support. I am taking part in the Scotiabank AIDS Walk For Life on September 19th and I am asking you to either come out and Walk with us or very kindly sponsor me (every little helps!). I know people will say 'well that's where she works of course she is going to ask, so why should I sponsor her?' but I just want to g...ive you a little more info about the AMAZING organisation I work for and maybe you will reconsider. AIDS Committee of Durham Region is one of the most heart warming, hard working and dedicated organisations I have ever come across - let alone have the absolute pleasure of working for. The funds raised from our walk go directly to our support services for people living with or affected by HIV/AIDS. These services include a weekly food bank - run directly from our office by staff and volunteers, a volunteer driver program which takes our clients to medical appointments which they may have missed due to illness or lack funds to pay for transport, a vitamin bank - providing essential vitamins to all of our clients, as well as programs such as our youth program (which includes street youth outreach) and that isn't even all of it!!!! As you can see our clients and our community are top of the agenda for everyone at ACDR - they are all THE most passionate people I have worked with and care so much about advocating for and providing services to people living with HIV/AIDS. SO this isn't just a job to me - I am so honored on a daily basis to call this group of people my colleagues and to see first hand the difference we make in peoples lives. I went to Frabricland yesterday for the first time in a long time - I forgot how dangerous that place is!!! I did but some beautiful fabrics to make table runners and table cloths for my wedding :) (only went slightly over budget!)

I am feeling very inspired by stripes today...I actually have some fabulous navy and white stripes fabric that I have been saving....think I feel a weekend project coming on!
