Franny's Foot Care 28.01.2021

It’s almost winter time and you’ve planned a vacation to a sunny getaway. You’re probably excited to dip your feet into the beautiful ocean water. . . WAIT! STOP! .... . Before walking barefoot on the beach, think about the following: - are you diabetic? - do you have neuropathy in your feet? - are you on any blood thinners? - do you require prescription glasses or sunglasses? - does your feet feel supported? . . These questions are important because: - Diabetics need to protect their feet at all cost. No diabetics should walk barefoot. Especially if you have neuropathy. - Peripheral Neuropathy - is a condition that affects the peripheral nerves. Its characterized by pain, numbness, tingling, and/or burning starting in the toes and gradually to the entire foot or limb. You lose feeling in your toes. - If you cut yourself walking barefoot on the beach and you’re on blood thinners. You may spend some time trying to get the bleeding to stop. In turn this could cause an open area and/or infection to the area. - Your eyes are being protected from the sun. So, why aren’t you protecting your feet? You may not see the small broken pieces of seashells on the beach that could potentially cut your bare foot. - The sand isn’t an even pavement. It’s bumpy and has no support. If you have mobility issues it’s better to wear supportive shoes. Now that you have all of this information. Go fourth and enjoy your winter vacation! . . . . . . . #footcare #feet #takecareofyourfeet #footcarenurse #nurse #mobilenurse #footcareclinic #frannysfootcare #foot #diabeticfootcare #ingrowntoenail #fungaltoenails #cornsandcalluses #onychomycosis #vancouverbusiness #vancouver #neuropathy #footcaretips #homecarenurse #nurseinbusiness

Just a reminder that this is NOT how you get rid of your calluses . Also, razor blades or knives shouldn’t be used. Unless done by a medical professional. . . What’s a callus? - It’s a formation of dead skin cells that hardened and thickened to an area of the foot that constantly experiences pressure or friction. ... - Essentially, your body is trying to protect you. . . Why are you getting them? - Excessive pressure to a certain area of the foot - High heels - Shoes with a small toe box - Bony areas on your feet - Mobility . . How can you get rid of the callus(es)? - Relieving the excess pressure to the certain area on your foot - Orthotic shoes - Avoid wearing high heels - See a medical professional about this issue. . . . . . . . #footcare #feet #takecareofyourfeet #footcarenurse #nurse #mobilenurse #footcareclinic #frannysfootcare #footsolutionsbc #foot #diabeticfootcare #ingrowntoenail #fungaltoenails #cornsandcalluses #onychomycosis #vancouverbusiness #vancouver #nurseinbusiness #diabetes #fungal #thickenedtoenails #calluses #treatyourfeet See more
