"Food for the Hungry Canada" reporting that the container of 1.2 million soup servings arrived safely in Bujumbura, Burundi, East Africa. "When children receive a hot meal with vegetables and protein their health is improved and children go to school happy!" Gleaner Soup with Blessing the Children Development Organization in Ethiopia.

Donation of Lentils (70,200 lbs) arrived from Kindersley, SK. this afternoon. Thank you to Robin & Brenda Walde of Rosana Farms Ltd. for the generous donation of lentils that will be added to our soup mix!

First Container 2021 of Gleaner's Soup Mix (960 boxes, 1.2 million soup servings) left our plant for Burundi, Africa. Burundi borders Rwanda, Tanzania and Congo, this country is 27,830 sq km and is home to over 11 million people. Burundians often have to deal with hunger, corruption, weak infrastructure and poor access to health and education services. Food for the Hungry Canada has been sending food to this area for the past 15 years.

Truck load of over 1000 boxes (over 1 million meals) of soup mix and apple snacks was loaded this morning. Destination: Burundi, Africa with Food for the Hungry Canada.

A great way to start the day when you receive pictures of a community enjoying Gleaners soup. Judy Bergen with Love Guatemala is distributing soup mix in boxes to people in need in the area. Thank you to Patty and her crew, Cristy and Elsa who serve soup in the Ixcanal, Jutiapa area. They feed 100 children plus adults.

The Gleaners will be closed on Wednesday, November 11 for Remembrance Day.

Soup Mix and Apple snacks were picked up and re-packaged in 21 larger boxes for Pasig, Philippines. This was done by a group of guys from Jesus Rock of Ages Ministries in Surrey.
