One of my babies was colicky. She only cried in the evenings, of course, when I was already exhausted from a long day of caring for a new baby and a toddler. It... was hard - for her and her parents. We began to jokingly refer to it as the sunset blues. A sense of humor was our most important remedy. In this week's episode of Natural MD Radio, I bring you a dose of the wisdom I've learned in over 25 years of caring for families, moms, and babies, and some natural medicine doses you can use to help, too.

"Milk, he said, is a perfect source of nutrition, a superfood that is actually worthy of the label." Kind of brainy article but worth the read. There's so much we don't understand about breastmilk, every little bit we learn reveals how much we don't know.

Thank you ACOG for spelling it out. -Pregnancy is not an exception to the principle that a decisionally capable patient has the right to refuse treatment, even ...treatment needed to maintain life. Therefore, a decisionally capable pregnant woman’s decision to refuse recommended medical or surgical interventions should be respected. The use of coercion is not only ethically impermissible but also medically inadvisable because of the realities of prognostic uncertainty and the limitations of medical knowledge. As such, it is never acceptable for obstetriciangynecologists to attempt to influence patients toward a clinical decision using coercion. Obstetriciangynecologists are discouraged in the strongest possible terms from the use of duress, manipulation, coercion, physical force, or threats, including threats to involve the courts or child protective services, to motivate women toward a specific clinical decision. http://journals.lww.com//Committee_Opinion_No__664___Refus See more
