Hello Paddlers, We regret to announce that we have cancelled the 2020 Harrison Dragon Boat Festival. This was of course a difficult decision, but with everyone...'s health and safety in mind we know it was the right one. Everyone is itching to be back on the water, but we will have to be patient awhile longer. We are working on setting a date for 2021, but have not yet finalized details. Please watch our Facebook page for updates. Keep safe everyone and know that we will paddle once again. Thank you, Festival Organizers

Hello Racers, It is with heavy hearts we are announcing the cancellation of False Creek's Women's Regatta and Breast Cancer Survivor Event. In light of the ongo...ing developments of COVID-19, the city has called off all events scheduled up until the end of May in Vancouver parks. We, like you, look forward to this regatta and the unique community that this annual event brings together. 2020 would have marked the 25th anniversary of Abreast in a Boat, and we remain grateful for their support through all these years. In these times, we seek to ensure the safety of our community first and foremost. Currently, there isn't a 2020 date to which we could confidently postpone the event. However, if circumstances change, we will do our utmost to host a 2020 event and we will let you know at that time. Otherwise we are looking forward to seeing you in May of 2021. Thank you once more for supporting FCRCC Premier Dragon Boat Team. We hope you all remain active and healthy in a safe manner! Sincerely, Jacqueline and Jason Co-Race Directors False Creek Women’s Regatta

The Fraser Valley Paddling Club Executive Committee has unanimously decided to suspend all paddling activities and club operations for the next 2 weeks due to the most recent publication and recommendations today from the Federal Government. Although the risk to British Columbian’s remains low of contracting COVID-19 we feel better ensuring the safety of our members by erring on the side of caution. Specifically, the suspension will mean postponing all practices and events ...involving club equipment and property including owned OC-1’s within the clubhouse until the Executive Committee announces a re-opening. If you own an OC-1 that is stored in the clubhouse, please contact Scott Borle our OC-Director to have it moved if you plan on paddling while the clubhouse is shut down. Obviously, this was not an easy decision but due to the fluid nature of this Pandemic and how other clubs have responded we as an executive felt it was the right thing to do. Please be patient and know that we ultimately have your and our families/community’s best interest at heart. We will continue to update you as things evolve. See more
