Here are my thoughts on why the market is so hot in the middle of a pandemic: 1) The five year mortgage terms for the buyers from 2016 are up, and 2016 was a crazy hot market. 2) Low interest rates. Really low. 3) Options for working from home have changed the way we see and use our space. 4) Being locked down has offered a lot of extra time at home highlighting all of the things that we would want to change about our homes.... 5) The move to a community that is a bit less expensive and the opportunity to pay off some debt and get a fresh start financially is really appealing. So are the bigger backyards! 80% of the clients that I helped move this past year bought a larger, more spacious home. I suspect it will be the same again this year.
