"Songs of Romace" -It's an intimate little show, but I think we do it with heart! If you missed our concert last time, or want to see it again, or if you'd simply enjoy a musical evening out on Saint Patrick's that isn't going to be steeped in green beer and Irish melodies , "Songs of Romance" might be just the ticket! And for those who love their Celtic Music this Saint Paddy's weekend, well, remember that we have one of Canada's finest Celtic bands, our friends, TURPIN'...S TRAIL coming to the Royal on Sunday evening at 7:30. Don't miss this wonderful group! All tickets are $25, tax included. Thank you for your support of our programming throughout the Winter! We look forward to welcoming you again this weekend! www.RoyalTheatre.ca

Hello Performing Artists and Creators! This is just to let you know that the Royal Theatre Thousand Islands is always on the lookout for the next great show! We... are especially hoping to bring more local/regional shows to our Summer Audiences in Gananoque, which is Ontario's Best-Located Entertainment Destination! How we work: The Royal Theatre Thousand Islands is set up to PRESENT shows through King Street Productions. Visiting productions are given the theatre, access to our tech, our wonderful volunteer front-of-house staff, we handle the ticket sales (all tickets are $25, tax included), assist with publicity, and for that we share the box-office 50/50 after tax. Our presentation model is designed to make producing shows affordably realistic, especially for young companies and independent Artists, by eliminating many of the prohibitive costs associated with renting a venue. You bring the show, we have the space. Standard-length shows with an intermission are preferred. The Royal Theatre Thousand Islands is a 165-seat theatre located at 75 King Street East, in Gananoque. Our town is Canada's Gateway to the Thousand Islands, home of the famous Thousand Islands Playhouse, offers wonderful dining and accommodation, has the Shoreline Casino, is right off the 401 highway... and the welcome you receive in this charming town is always warm and genuine. PM me (Frayne McCarthy) for more information. www.RoyalTheatre.ca

Time to reflect on and celebrate the power of the Christmas spirit to change hearts and give joy. Opening night of Gananoque’s Royal Theatre production of Char...les Dickens’ A Christmas Carol was a heart-warming and entertaining event. Well attended by people of all ages, the production offered old-fashioned caroling, Old English dancing, and brought an old story to life. The singing was what you might expect from a community production. A blend of young and old enthusiastic voices makes up the chorus, giving the caroling scenes a realistic feel. Notable for their solos were (Ashleigh McLaren) as Belle, Scrooge’s fiancée and (Peter Yerdon) as poor Mr. Jenkins. Frayne McCarthy, Scrooge, delivers songs that move one to tears at times and to cheers at others. Poignant scenes of poverty and broken hearts are balanced by mirthful scenes of music and dance. The setting is simple but sufficient to create atmosphere. The humble but loving Cratchit abode transitions smoothly to the generous and festive nephew’s party. The scenes involving Jacob Marley (Lorraine Payette) and the Ghosts of Christmases Past (Peggy Haggarty), Present(Clifford Feltham) and Future were especially effective with clever use of staging, special effects and costuming-- each of the spirits demonstrating a personality equal to their purpose. Kevin Saylor’s direction evokes a balance of judgement and empathy for Mr. Ebenezer Scrooge, using humour to both mock and soften the blows delivered against his character. Kudos to the casting crew for selecting Thomas Pritchard as the nephew of Scrooge (Frayne) and of course for bringing us an memorable and adorable Tiny Tim ( Jaxon Swain ). $20 will buy an enjoyable and entertaining evening at the Royal Theatre. Bring a friend or your family. It’ll be a great way to get into the Christmas spirit. JenP (Dec. 6-9 at 7:30 pm and matinee at 2 on Dec. 9) See more

I just re-watched this audition... and I wasn't bad ;-) Thank you, Nadine Charron, for taping and editing this <3, and for putting up with my singing that "Welcome to the Rock" song over and over!

"Souvenir" is on stage for 3 more shows only. Then it will be gone! Don't miss this delightful play about the famously vocally-challenged operatic soprano who w...as beloved by so many. The magic of this piece is discovering how this eccentric woman inspired the devotion of so many people through her pure love of music. Nadia Verrucci is "glorious" as Florence, and Chris Barillaro is so sweet as Cosme, you'll want to take a bite out of him ;-) Together, these two actors are sensational... and so is this show! TONIGHT (Friday) at 7:30 pm, and TOMORROW (Saturday) at 2:00 & 7:30 pm. Tickets are only $20 +tax, available online or at the door.
