The Centre Famille & Ressource is a non-profit organization that serves the Montreal’s West Island population. Our mission is to support and strengthen families with children experiencing learning and/or behavior problems by offering individual and group support to the children and their parents/loved ones. We are looking for a child facilitator for our SNAP program. The program is intended to reach children between the ages of 6 and 11 who have disruptive behavior problems e...ither at school, at home or in the community. We offer them individual and group help. SNAP, which stands for STOP NOW AND PLAN, is an evidence-based, cognitive-behavioural model powered by the minds at Child Development Institute (CDI). SNAP helps troubled children and their parents learn how to effectively manage their emotions and ‘keep their problems small.’ Responsibilities: Conduct screening interviews with families; Facilitate weekly children groups; Provide. if needed, individual counselling for designated children participating in groups; Visit children in school for observations as needed; Liaison with police, schools and other agencies; With the onslaught of Covid-19 we have had to transfer our sessions to Zoom which results in individual sessions with the children instead of a group setting. Most of the sessions take place between 4 and 8 pm with a possibility of Saturdays as well. Competencies required: Degree in special education, social work, education, or relevant field; Minimum three (3) years related experience in individual and group work; Empathy, flexibility; sensitivity; organizational skills; good communication skills (spoken and written); General competence with office software; Understanding of, and interest in working within a community model; Ability to work alone and in a team; Must be bilingual; Must have a vehicle and a valid driver's license; Bilingual Work conditions: Starting ASAP for a 4-month contract with possibility of renewal; 35 hours per week (flexible but must include evenings and weekends as required); Salary : $19 per hour; Candidate will have some flexibility between office and at-home hours. Le poste débute le 13 juillet et se termine le 21 août à 40 heures par semaine. Tâches et responsabilités : Les lundis, mardis et jeudis, jusqu’à 15 enfants seront dans notre camp (3 groupes de 5 enfants) et circuleront entre la grande salle, l’extérieur et une pièce au 2e. o Le concierge sera responsable du nettoyage à chaque fois qu’un groupe passe à une autre section ou toutes les 3 heures selon la première éventualité. o Nettoyage des sanitaires toutes les 3 heures. (1 en bas et 2 à l'étage) o Ainsi qu'un nettoyage général de ces espaces en fin de journée. Les mercredi et vendredi sont pour un nettoyage générale de nos espaces incluant le bureau. Exigences et qualifications Tout l'équipement nécessaire sera sur place. Travailler confortablement autour des enfants Doit être bilingue Bonne communication Les heures sont de 9h00 à 17h00 Le salaire est de 14,00 $ l'heure Doit accepter une vérification judiciaire. Know anybody looking for a summer job. Our summer program is looking for a daily janitor to clean our facilities as per the measures established the Director of... Public health. Position starts July 13 and end August 21 at 40 hours per week. Duties & Responsibilities: On Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, up to 15 children will be in our camp (3 groups of 5) and will circulate between the hall, outside and another room upstairs. o The janitor will be responsible for cleaning after each group rotates to another section or every 3 hours whichever comes first. o Cleaning of the bathroom facilities every 3 hours. (1 downstairs and 2 upstairs) o As well as a general cleaning of these spaces at end of day. Wednesday and Fridays are for general cleanup of all the facility including office space. Requirements & Qualifications All necessary equipment will be onsite.
