We are sold out for the day! This was a very unpredictable Good Friday and we really appreciate all of the support. Our line-up started an hour before we opened and our dedicated customers were ready to feed the whole family right when we opened our doors! Because we sold out much earlier than expected today, we plan to open 12pm-4pm tomorrow (Saturday, April 3rd) for those who missed out today - thanks to our wonderful fish suppliers who offered to deliver us some fish tomorrow morning. Hello Everyone! We’re here with your Fredie’s Fantastic Good Friday update! We will be open for take-out only on Good Friday from noon until 7pm (or until we sell out!). There are no pre-orders, call-ins or Uber Eats on this day. It is a very busy day and out of fairness to all we will be operating on a first-come-first-serve basis as per previous years. We will only be serving fish & chips on this day. This will include family packs, newfie fries, poutines, coleslaw and... gravy. There is no limit to how much you order. If you’re feeding the whole family and then some, we’ll take care of you! Covid Protocol: There will be 3 customers allowed in the restaurant at any one time. With that said, once you place your order at cash you will wait in our designated waiting area to get your order within 10 minutes after placing it - there will not be a second waiting period. Please note that it is still mandatory to wear a mask indoors at our restaurant for your safety and for the safety of our staff. We will be as methodical as possible when it comes to maintaining a clean and safe environment for all. Thank you all in advance for your support. Hello everyone, Fredie’s will be closed today (Friday, March 19th). The roads are messy and our staff has raised concerns about going in. We were originally going to open for the evening, but by the time the snow clears up, we would not have a reasonable amount of time to open after we do our 3-hr prep. We will not be bringing in fish for the safety of our supplier. Stay safe and warm and enjoy Sheila’s Brush! We’ll see you tomorrow like usual, thank you for your understanding

We had an incredible order from NSLC’s warehouse tonight! 38 orders of 2pc fish & chips and 2 orders of chicken fingers & chips!!! We appreciate local businesses who support each other during tough times as such and wanted to give a little shoutout to this specific team who really does care about the community. After being closed for nearly 2 months and reopening with limited hours and a limited menu, we really appreciate orders like these that truly elevate our business. Thank you to EVERYONE who has been so understanding with our changes since reopening and who have continued to support us through thick and thin while we try to get back on our feet. Our wonderful customers and absolutely outstanding staff truly feel like family

Hello everyone! We have received a huge catering-sized order for tonight, and will now be open for 3pm-6:30pm for general call-in/pick-up + UberEats. Hello Everyone! We are excited to announce that Fredie’s plans to reopen on Tuesday, May 19th!! We are taking our reopening in stride, and have decided to open from 3pm-7pm, Tuesday-Saturday with a limited menu of fish n chips and other fryer-based menu items for the first while. As we adjust, we will add other popular menu items - like our seafood chowder. We will be available for curbside pick-up and delivery with uber eats! We appreciate your patience during this difficult time and are unbelievably thankful for your love and support. We are glad to be back and can’t wait to see your smiling faces once again

Fredie’s has made the difficult decision to temporarily close during the COVID-19 outbreak. We thank everyone that has supported us during the strenuous week we just had, and cannot put into words how grateful we all are for your kind words, orders (big & small) and overall support. I personally want to also thank our hardworking staff and all of our local suppliers who have done their best to make things work for not only Fredie’s, but for our entire community. With our excess of food, Fredie’s has decided to donate our 400+ lbs of potatoes, lemons & other goods to the food bank to give back. We hope that you understand our decision to temporarily close with the rise in cases and will be ready to support us again when we reopen under better circumstances. We are nothing without you. Hello Everyone, With the rising concern of COVID-19 we have decided to close our dining room at Fredie’s, and stay open for take-out/pick-up orders only until further notice. This decision was made with the best interest of the public and our employees in mind. Our priority has always been (and always will be) the well-being of our staff and customers. Our staff understand that working during this time is not an obligation and have shifts on a voluntary basis. All operating d...ecisions are made with the input of the staff’s valued opinions. If the time comes where either the government or myself as the owner believe that closing the doors completely for a short amount of time is appropriate, we will make another announcement. It is important to understand that one may be a carrier of COVID-19 without showing obvious symptoms, and could come into contact with a vulnerable person without realizing the consequences. Our customers range from young families to senior citizens, those in good health to not so good health. We have a limited dine-in space, and keeping 6ft away from the next seated customer will be very difficult. We are taking this situation seriously and hope you understand our decision to be proactive instead of reactive. We are a small business who prides ourselves in our social atmosphere. Fredie’s is a place where you can bond with your seat neighbor without ever meeting them before! There is nothing we love more than the open friendliness between our customers and our staff. It is disheartening to stop dine in, however, it is in the best interest of the public. Once again, we will be available for call-in/take-out orders to help meet your fresh seafood cravings until further notice and starting at the end of this week, Fredie’s will temporarily be available on UBER EATS for delivery. All delivery orders will be handled directly through their app and not via call-in. We have never done delivery in the past due to time and financial constraints, but have chosen to go this route to give more options to those who do not wish to leave their home. We want to support our customers any way we can, as they have always supported us. We appreciate your continued support of our local business and we patiently anticipate until we can have everyone sit in for one of our impromptu kitchen parties again! Thank you all so much.

Yesterday was our darling Ron’s 65th birthday!!! Ron is as genuine as it gets and is the guy who will tell you how it is. Even though his birthday was on International Lobster Roll Day, he celebrated with a fish burger because Ron lives by his own rules Ron was (un)fortunate enough to have the Fredie’s team (starring our vocal lead Yvonne) sing him Happy Birthday! The amazing The Ring Of Fire: A Johnny Cash Experience, Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings of A Musical Tribute to The Highwaymen came in today! It was a blast having them drop in for some delicious Nova Scotian seafood & maritime hospitality before they play at the Rebecca Cohen Theatre tonight at 7:30pm. Just another eventful day at Fredies!!!
