I want to eat with you. I want to rejoice with you. You are on the loose - out in the world. Thanks be to God. I will keep my eyes open. Amen."

Jesus lived in a time where both oppressive powers of religion and empire dominated. In which realm are you struggling most to see the stronger power of God's sacrificial love? Pick a passage where Jesus interacts with Pharisees or Rome and see how God might be speaking to you through the spiritual practice of Gospel Contemplation. Here's How: After picking your passage, find a quiet space. Reflectively read the passage multiple times imagining yourself there. You can answer... these questions to help the imagination process: 1. Who is there? Un/mentioned characters? 2. What is going on in the scene? 3. Where is Jesus? What does he look like? Smell like? Feel like? 4. How do others interact with Jesus? What are they saying? What emotions fill their words? 5. Where are you? How are you feeling there? What are you desiring to do? say? As your time finishes, speak to Jesus whatever is coming from your heart. May God meet you in this process!
