This hen proved to be just as useful as a barn cat- she caught and ate a mouse. The other hens were very jealous of her catch!

We had our first chocolate brown egg today! It was a fun surprise to find it in the nesting box

It was a mad dash to the nesting boxes as the hens fought over them after being locked outside for an hour while the coop got cleaned out. These ladies really had to pop their eggs out

Our self serve egg stand is back up, fresh free range eggs available daily for $4/dozen.

Welcomed some new birds to the farm this week. And a new gent. We will wait for warmer weather to integrate them into the rest of the flock.
