They’re coming! House flies are able to process what they see and react accordingly at amazing speeds. To put things into perspective, our brains process around 60 images a second, whereas a fly can process around 250 in a single second. Thankfully, we have come up with solutions so you don’t have to hear their music while you sleep! ... Freedom Pest Control - FPC 204-905-0778

Hoppy Hoppy Easter! I hope everyone is having a wonderful day Here’s some fun facts about rabbits to share with the kiddos! ... 1. BABY RABBITS ARE CALLED KITTENS. Bunny, falls into the same category of cutesy terms as kitty and doggy 2. SOME RABBITS ARE AS BIG AS A TODDLER. The Flemish giant rabbit can grow up to 2.5 feet in length and get up to 22 pounds 3. RABBITS "BINKY" WHEN THEY'RE HAPPY. If you spend enough time around rabbits, you may be lucky enough to witness one of the cutest behaviors in nature. A bunny will hop when it's happy and do a twist in mid-air. 4. THEY CAN'T VOMIT. While a cat can cough up a hairball after a long day of self-grooming, a rabbit cannot. The rabbit digestive system is physically incapable of moving in reverse. 5. THEIR VISION COVERS NEARLY 360 DEGREES. It's hard to sneak up on a rabbit: Their vision covers nearly 360 degrees, which allows them to see what's coming from behind them, above them, and from the sides without turning their heads. 6. THEY LIVE IN ELABORATE TUNNELS CALLED WARRENS. Rabbits dig complex tunnel systems, called warrens, that connect special rooms reserved for things like nesting and sleeping. The dens have multiple entrances that allow the animals to escape in a pinch, and some warrens are as large as tennis courts and extend 10 feet below the surface. Good afternoon! Unless you have one as a pet, the rat probably isn’t your favorite animal. In fact, many people shudder and cringe at the thought of rats being anywhere near their homes or office buildings. In spite of their bad reputations, rats are pretty interesting creatures. Still skeptical? Check out the following 7 facts about rats.... 1. Certain types of rats can swim over a mile! Some species can tread water for 3 days. 2. Rats can laugh. They may not chuckle like us but rats do make a high pitched noise when they play 3. Their tails keep them cool. Rats expand and contract the blood vessels in their tail to regulate their blood temperature. 4. Rat teeth never stop growing. Their teeth can grow up to 5 inches per year and naw through lead, cinder blocks and even aluminum. 5. They’re social creatures. Most rats live in communities in which they groom each other, sleep together, and even play. 6. Rats can carry pathogens that spread disease. According to the CDC rats and mice can carry over 35 diseases. 7. The Sumatran bamboo rat can weigh up to 8.8 pounds. That’s the size of a small house cat. Freedom Pest Control - FPC 204-905-0778

Have you ever wondered what these are? Well if you’re unfortunate like me, I found out the hard way. -My family and I went for a walk near lac du bonnet. These not so scary looking things were flying around all day and we just brushed them aside if they came close. About 10 minutes into the walk I felt one land on my neck and it decided to take a big ol bite. Let me tell you something, these guys don’t mess around! Felt like I just got shot by a high powered pellet gun from... 2 feet away so if you want to save a chunk of your skin here’s some things to know about them! Monochamus scutellatus, commonly known as the white-spotted sawyer beetle or spruce beetle. It is a species native to North America. These wood burrowers feed off and breed in various conifers trees, such as pine trees, and are often blamed for the pine wilt disease. Pine sawyer beetles do not directly cause pine wilt. Instead, the beetles harbor pinewood nematodes (tiny worms) that cause pine wilt. Getting rid of pine sawyer beetles and their eggs will help to lower the risk of the tree disease and damage done to the inside of your trees. Destroy any newly fallen, stressed or dying trees, especially pines, on your property. Burning the trees is the best solution, while chipping or mulching will also work. Pine sawyer beetles eat, live and lay their eggs within newly fallen or weakened trees. To slow the slow the spread of these beetles it is best to completely destroy fallen or stressed trees before early March. Save this number in case you’re dealing with these this summer! 204 905-0778 Freedom Pest Control - FPC
