Blood flow restriction: miracle return to play adjunct or therapy fad? #Rehab http://ow.ly/2SwD50jDN4K
Been trying to explain this for some time. Get the correct advice on your footwear for the greatest long term benefits. In other words see the specialists and get personlised advice.
Due to an impending change in circumstances it is with regret that I inform you all that I will not be taking on new clients from today. Any existing clients please take note that I will continue to be available until the 2nd June, just drop me a message if you need to book in. The exciting news is that there is a new online assessment platform in the making!! This will allow an ongoing service to be provided by Freeflex Physio - I will endeavour to post updates as and when they become available
For those runners out there who want to know that I have some experience from both a professional and a personal perspective of what it's like to put yourself through the marathon - here are yesterdays splits - don't forget any advice given comes from both points of view! - http://results-2017.virginmoneylondonmarathon.com/2017/
First day of working in conjunction with the Sportspark UEA to provide full clinic services tomorrow and we're full up! Great start. If anyone needs further info please see the link here - http://www.sportspark.co.uk/join-in/physiotherapy
Had a large number of people asking me about foam rollers of late. All I can say is that the evidence for their use is limited at best. If you feel better after using them then great but please do not foam roll your Iliotibial band (ITB). When you develop what is known as Iliotibial band syndrome (http://www.runnersworld.com/tag/it-band-syndrome), you need to target the cause of the tension on the ITB BUT not the band itself. I can assure you that unless you are a masochist i...t will only cause you discomfort and may actually harm your recovery prospects. The ITB itself is a thick sheet of fibrous tissue that is meant to be taught in order to help stabilise your knee! If you have excessively tight Gluteals and sometimes Quadriceps, it may lead to patello-femoral pain but then it is much better to target the Gluteals , Quadriceps and Tensor Fasciae Latae (TFL) muscles as these insert into the band and will reduce the tension around the kneecap. If you've experienced this condition there can be other numerous contributory factors involved. If you have had this in the past and need further help or advice with how to manage it then please do get in touch.
Well its break time for me! If anyone has any enquiries please don't hesitate to email the [email protected] inbox and I will answer them asap - maybe from the jungle or possibly just when I get back :-)

A regular question - with the answer summed up well here - what's the difference between a strain and a sprain? *Keep an eye on this page for an exciting announcement on the new home of Freeflex Physio.* http://greatist.com/move/strain-sprain
** Important Notice ** Unfortunately I was notified yesterday that the home of Freeflex Physio for the past two years in the Dynamic Fitness Studio 2 is due to close. The final day for appointments based at the Ber Street based clinic will therefore be the 23rd August. This does mean that we will be searching for alternatively premises from which to continue to offer the Freeflex Physiotherapy service. I would like to say a big thank you to Ross and the team at Dynamic who I ...am sure will continue to offer an excellent personal training program for anyone who is trying to hit their fitness targets. Once we have identified a suitable alternative venue I will let everybody know.
With Euro 2016 in full swing (and England flattering to deceive as usual) I was thinking about my football rehab and an injury common to many sports the dreaded hamstring strain. Therefore for your viewing here's a good exercise which can help with preventing this often re occurring injury http://www.runnersworld.com/ne/the-trick-to-hamstring-rehab
