For those of us dinosaurs who still care about grammar, word usage and such, it's discoouraging to see major print outlets making mistakes. For example, I just saw in a Globe and Mail article: "Of course, the average Canadian is not going to pore through the Ontario Court of Appeal’s 93-page decision." "Pore" is a noun, meaning "a minute opening in a surface, especially the skin, through which gases, liquids, or microscopic particles can pass." What they wanted was "pour."
Grammerly does not replace an experienced editor! There are nuances that a computer can neither undersstand nor compensate for. It may be a stepping stone but if you want accurate and polished writing, let a real person who is educated in the craft to do it.
Kindergarten kids, their working parents, post-secondary students, pregnant women, Indigenous people, those with severe health issues needing medication assistance .... who will be vulnerable enough for the Ford government to go after next I wonder? We'll have to wait and see ....
Just a snapshot of English incongruities. And a reason to have an editor peruse your pursuits.
I got 100 per cent. But then, words are my business.
