I've always been a fan of ball catches on closet doors but I wanted to try the rare earth magnet setup. I learned a few things 1) If you drill your hole in the jamb too deep shim it to the proper height BEFORE you put the magnet in because that magnet is not coming out for anything! 2) I didnt really like the look of the magnets in the jamb. 3) I'm not a huge fan as you need about a 1/16" space between the magnets for a good hold.... 4) if your magnet cups are too deep and uou don't like them...skim them with bondo and voila, no more magnets. This door was in a basement that has now been finished 3 times, twice by us. Water is the enemy and these clients were very thankful for the insurance they did have.
