Do you feel the pressure rising? Is it coming from outside or inside? Our current moment can make us feel as though we are in a tea kettle and the whistle is starting to sound as the pressures hit us from all angles. This Sunday our presiding minister, Leanne Ketcham, will preach a sermon from Philippians 4:1-9. We will wonder together: how is God calling us to live as we endure external and internal pressure? Is there abundant life for us right now, or just anxiety? #UCCan #torontochurch #kingswaylambtonuc
This week we welcome Rhiannon Hill, Sunday school teacher at Kingsway-Lambton United Church, to explore the ways God uses people in our lives. Join us on Zoom at 8:30am on Sunday for Fresh Start-- a relaxed way to worship together for believers, seekers, doubters, and wonderers.
Join us on Zoom, Sunday October 4 for Fresh Start! The Zoom room opens at 8:30 with the service lasting from 8:45-9:30. We welcome back a familiar face to Fresh Start in Rev. Stephen Milton! Entitled "Beyond the Obvious" and based on Matthew 5:27-30, Stephen's sermon will be examining the wisdom buried within one of the more perplexing passages in the Bible, where Jesus suggests we pluck out an eye if it causes us to sin. How can Jesus mean that? Looking beyond the obvious is important in interpreting scripture, and is doubly important now that the obvious social systems are not working as they should. This Sunday is Worldwide Communion Sunday, so BYOB&C-- bring your own bread & cup, too!
Our Holy Week scripture reading and prayer continue! Join Rev. Leanne and read Matthew 27:57-66 where Jesus is buried. Question for reflection: What needs resurrecting in your life? What makes it hard to turn this over to God and trust that God will bring you, too, through death to new life?
Our Holy Week scripture reading and prayer continue! Join Rev. Leanne and read Matthew 27:32-56 where Jesus is crucified and dies. Question for reflection: How does Jesus’s death tell the truth about our lives and world? PS don’t miss our online Good Friday service: https://youtu.be/YoPFzuuq0_E
