#PancakeDay has us dreaming of Savoury Pancakes w/ Guinness Cheddar & Schinkenpeck, via @restlesspalate #Recipe Savoury Pancakes... 1 cup all purpose flour 2/3 cup whole wheat flour 1/2 tsp salt 2 tsp baking powder 1 1/3 cup milk 2 eggs 1 tsp Dijon Guinness Cheddar Schinkenspeck (we recommend Freybe Black Forest Schinkenspeck!) Start by placing the flour, salt and baking powder into a large bowl and mix until dry ingredients are blended evenly. In another bowl gently whisk the milk, eggs and Dijon. This step ensures there will be no lumps of mustard. Heat a large frying pan to medium heat. Lightly grease the pan if necessary, and place a couple Tbsp of batter into the hot pan. Cook until small bubbles start to form at the surface and flip to the other side. Once the bubbles start to form, the bottom of the pancake should be golden brown. If the bottom becomes too dark or burnt, the pan is too hot. If the bottom of the pancake is not golden enough, turn up the heat slightly. Using a large frying pan will allow you to make 3 to 5 at a time. Top with a small slice or crumble of cheese and place in a warm oven until you have enough for the group. Top with a half a slice of Schinken and serve warm.
