We’ve been asked multiple times about doing dogs anal glands. The answer is no, and here’s why! We do not do them nor do we recommend any groomers to do them. ...Groomers in Saskatchewan are not permitted to be doing them as it is considered a medical procedure. Vets know best as they are taught the proper way to excrete the glands contents! The difference between vets and groomers is vets are able to go internal and get all the contents out easily and safely without rupturing anything! Vets are able to get the tough ones to safely release without hurting the dog! Groomers who are taught do an external squeeze, doing that can lead to not getting all contacts, potentially hurting the dog or even rupturing the gland. We’ve been asked can’t you just watch a YouTube video we defiantly could but for our piece of mind we would like the professionals so handle that situation! We care about your pets and their safety, please take that into consideration for next time you don’t want to spend the extra few dollars to let the professionals handle it! See more
