Des Davidge was finally awarded last year’s Ducks Unlimited Wetland Conservation Award. The award was presented by Ducks Unlimited Oceanside Chapter at Dudley... Marsh in the presence of Ducks and several fans from the Friends of French Creek Conservation Society. Des has worked hard at Dudley Marsh for many years monitoring water levels, taking photographic records of the wetland and liaising with DFO And Nature Trust. John and I are proud to call him our friend even though it was he who bequeathed us Freckles so many years ago. Rock on Des. You’re a tough act to follow!

Ducks Unlimited actively engages in conservation projects on the Island. The Oceanside Chapter is wonderful to work with regarding Hamilton Marsh. Here's an opportunity to contribute to all of their conservation efforts.

This is a 40 minute action packed broadcast. Jasper Lament is hosting. The Nature Trust of British Columbia has put together with the help of some swell people a series of short videos- some light and fun, others showcasing our projects. Their silent auction features some wonderful items. The auction will open on Sept 23 and close on Oct 7. What an incredible year! ... You can register for this complimentary event here. Registering means you will get updates including a link to the Oct 7 presentation. If possible,
