Des Davidge was finally awarded last year’s Ducks Unlimited Wetland Conservation Award. The award was presented by Ducks Unlimited Oceanside Chapter at Dudley... Marsh in the presence of Ducks and several fans from the Friends of French Creek Conservation Society. Des has worked hard at Dudley Marsh for many years monitoring water levels, taking photographic records of the wetland and liaising with DFO And Nature Trust. John and I are proud to call him our friend even though it was he who bequeathed us Freckles so many years ago. Rock on Des. You’re a tough act to follow!

Ducks Unlimited actively engages in conservation projects on the Island. The Oceanside Chapter is wonderful to work with regarding Hamilton Marsh. Here's an opportunity to contribute to all of their conservation efforts.

Friends of French Creek Conservation Society AGM April 17th, 2020 You are cordially invited to the Friends of the French Creek Conservation Society’s AGM to be held on Sept 17th at the Parksville Conference Centre at 7 pm. Guest Speaker Herman VanderByl from the Marion Baker Fish Hatchery on the French Creek will be the guest speaker on activities at the Hatchery on Miller Road run by the PQ Fish and Game. ... Bring your friends along to hear about his work with salmon on the French Creek and to discuss other exciting adventures of the Society this year. Wear a mask and observe social distancing protocols.
