Kiara is going to be a great student for recording and music production. She will be using her dad, Dan as the singer/songwriter client, and along with training from myself, she will be producing Dan’s music. This will be a great way for her to get hands-on training, and since she has a desire to become a music producer, this is a great fit. She’s a fast learner, and isn’t afraid to make suggestions and is quickly learning her way around some equipment. I’d like to thank both of them for being such good spirited folk, and having fun in the learning and creative process. Kev

This beautiful worship song was written by Alysha Kyle, Nathan Kirschner and Jessica Kirschner. Alysha came into the studio last minute to record a couple songs for a Moose FM Bancroft Canada Day radio event.

This is one of my favorite songs to sing in worship services. Depending on the band, it can go on for a while :) It is written by one of my fav groups, All Sons & Daughters. They aired this song today (Canada Day 2020) on Bancroft's Moose FM, along with a little interview with me. I was honored to be part of the local talent day, and I'm very thankful that they weren't hesitant to play Christian music on their station. A special thanks to my friend and brother in Christ, Gary Fitzpatrick who joined me last minute in the studio to lay down a great drum track.

This is a song that I sing in church a lot, and other worship music occasions. It really helps to remind us that we are God's children, and because of that, we need not fear... anything! The song was composed by Jonathan Helser, Joel Case and Brian Johnson of Bethel Music and covered by me, recorded at Glory Studios. I'd like to thank Gary Fitzpatrick for coming in and laying down a great drum track.

Had a fantastic recording session with Alysha Kyle in Glory Studios on Saturday. She recorded three songs to be submitted for airplay on Canada Day on Moose FM in Bancroft. We'll get the other two videos edited and up soon, so check back. This is a rendition of Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus with original lyrics for the verses.

A while back, Heather Johns and myself got together for an impromptu worship session in Glory Studios. This is one of those songs, which I thought would be very appropriate to share with everyone on Easter Sunday. The grave is empty! HE IS RISEN!

At the Cross (Love Ran Red) by Chris Tomlin is a wonderful song, where we recognize the sacrifice Jesus made for us to have our sins wiped clean. I don't often ...play this on piano, and maybe I never have, as guitar is my main instrument when leading worship. I hope you like it. I recorded this today while we're self-isolating from the COVID19. Not terrible being sequestered to Glory Studios. This song has been on my heart lately, as Easter approaches, may we remember the Cross of Calvary. See more

3 Min video showing what can be done in DAZ 3D Software in 30 minutes.

Well, I've been playing in DAZ 3D software a bit more than normal since the self-isolation started with COVID19. These characters and scenes are created using one software program called DAZ 3D. It is a form of 3D modeling, and each character could be animated, but at this quality, I would need a much larger computer. I have rendered these to web quality, but they look quite amazing at higher resolutions. If you'd like to learn more about DAZ 3D, or sign up for some virtual lessons, just drop me a line. Kev

Video Private Guitar Lessons. Due to the Coronavirus outbreak, some teaching practices have had to undergo some changes. In order to make sure students don't miss their lessons, Glory Studios is now offering Video/chat lessons utilizing FaceTime, Skype or FaceBook Messenger. Students will require a cellphone/tablet/computer with a webcam, an Internet connection, their guitar and books. We will focus in on each other's hands, and since we both have the same sheet music, it seems to go quite well. Many students are booked in for this type of lesson over the next couple of weeks, but this also opens up opportunities for new students that don't live nearby or can't get out of the house, etc. Usual lesson rates apply and payment can be made through e-transfers.

O Come to the Altar by Elevation Worship is a fantastic 'altar call' song. It is often one of my go to's for a last second add, when church just isn't over, and more songs are needed to be pulled up on the ipad, this is one of them. I love Elevation Worship, especially their acoustic sessions. I hope you like this one. It sounds great with the full band too, so come to church and find out! :)

Multiplied is an excellent worship song by the band needtobreathe. I really love their music, and this song in particular has become a mainstay song when I'm leading worship, regardless of what church I'm singing in. It is an anthem of sorts,... praising God for His love and mercy,. I hope you enjoy it. Check out other music by needtobreathe too.

Keep Making Me. This is a song that has meant a lot to me over the past few years. It's by one of my favourite bands, The Sidewalk Prophets. It is a prayer, that we really should consider the ramifications should we pray it and it gets answered. I have a times had quite a difficult time singing this song, as emotions can get in the way ;)

Chain Breaker. Here's an awesome song by Zach Williams. Zach is well known for his music ministry in prisons and other places many worship leaders don't go.This song is important to help introduce Who has broken my chains, and Who I get my freedom from. I really am free, free from so many anxieties, and other things that were holding me back from being who I was created to be. Through my own personal struggles, I have found out Who can break the chains we often feel we're being held back by. Sometimes we just feel stuck, stuck where we don't want to be. Those are the chains holding us back from truly being free. I hope you like the song that Zach wrote, and rush out to buy his music! :)

Way Maker is a worship song written by Osinachi Okoro and has been recorded by many Christian artists over the years. Here is Kevin's version on acoustic guitar in Glory Studios on a Sunday afternoon in January.

Glory Studios is now offering private Classical Guitar Lessons, both here in Glory, and at Guitar Nuts Music Shop in Bancroft. This differs from traditional plectrum (pick) style guitar, by utilizing finger-picking techniques. It is the route that would need to be taken for college or university (level 7,8). Students must have completed prerequisite studies of Alfred's Basic Guitar BK 2 or equivalent (also available here). These lessons are designed to be Preparation and Instruction for Royal Conservatory of Music Examinations for Preparatory, Levels 1 and 2. Requires a classical guitar.

Many people ask me what DAZ3D is, and if it's difficult to create 3D characters. I have workshops at Glory Studios showing all of this, and classes, where youth can have the software on their own laptops and create at home as well. The free software DAZ3D comes with a great amount of 'assets' or 'content', and that can be anything from scenery, hair styles, clothing and props. These 'assets' can be purchased later to add to your collection of choices, and many things can be a...dapted. I will often wait for great sales pricing to happen and then spend $20 to $30 to get a bunch more assets selling for $2 to $10 each. Over time, my asset or content selection has grown, which makes building scenes like this one very fast and of high quality. In this scene, I wanted to dive in and just show you what I could do in a half an hour. The design and modelling process took a half hour, but the rendering time, even on my fast computer took about 2 hours for the final still image. I sped the whole process up and brought it down to 3 minutes, so if you take the 3 minutes, you can watch how it's done. I hope you enjoy! Kev See more

This is the final recording and video compilation for this summer's Band Camp. This young group of musicians had to get to know each other, learn how to set up equipment, learn a new song, rehearse it and record it, all in 4 two hour sessions. It was a blast, and will be the first of many Band Camps we hope to run at Glory Studios.

These are some characters I've been creating in DAZ3D software. Most of them are 'works in progress', but I like to share them even if they're not quite finished. These characters are 3D, and can be animated using DAZ or other animation programs.

Here's a new creation I did last night in DAZ3D. She hasn't got a name yet, which is unusual, as I almost always name my characters while creating them. In this one, I was playing with lighting and render qualities, make up, eyes, etc. What do you think her name should be?

Sorry, this Workshop has been cancelled. We will run it again in the fall.

The second week of the series of workshops 'Home Recording' went really well. We replaced the 'ghost' tracks of me singing with 'good' tracks of my guitar and vocal. We also determined the drum machine parts I had played with the week before weren't working for us. This was a very hands-on workshop, and my group of engineers were amazing. Obviously, this could go on and on. We still have many 'overdubs' of instruments and vocals to go, and then of course 'mixing' the song. It is my hope to have a Home Recording 103 and 104 in the fall with the same group of participants. We still have room for a couple more people in those future workshops. Participants really learn a lot, when recording in a professional environment, but everything they learn is applicable even in little home studio set ups.

Week 2 of Band Camp was fantastic. The 'band' is starting to come together, and the song they're working on is starting to sound smooth. Two more weeks, and they should have it down, along with a recording of it! I am having so much fun with these kids, and they are learning so much about what it means to be in a band. I can't wait for week three on the 26th!

There is still room for another participant at tomorrow's Home Recording 102 Workshop. You didn't have to attend the first one, last week in order to attend this one. This week we will be recording several instruments and vocals over the 'bed' tracks we recorded last week. Participants are the recording engineers, and I'll be the performer. Last week was a lot of fun, and I really look forward to tomorrow.

This was the second Intro to DAZ 3D seminar set up. The first one led into a series of hands on 3D creation classes. This one's classes will start in the fall.

The First Week of Band Camp "A Blast!" (sorry for poor pic quality)

Band Camp is 'full' and starts this afternoon. I'm so excited! The new 'band' will be working on a great song from the Youngbloods, (1960's) called Get Together. The musician line up is Gioia Guerrero - Lead Vocals, Angus Kelly - Lead Electric Guitar, Tallon Hoover - Drums, Helen Williams - Acoustic Guitar/Vocals, Mikayla Mills - Keyboards/Vocals and Will Kirkham - Bass Guitar. Check back here for updates, and a finished recording 5 weeks from now of the song.

It was a blast to have the WolfPack from NHHS come to Glory Studios to record the song they wrote 'Sound of Us'. They had an opportunity to record a very professional video, and required their song to be recorded first. I'm so blessed that they chose to record here.

The final video from the Wolf Pack, students from NHHS! We recorded the song at Glory Studios a couple weeks ago, and they did a very professional video shoot. It was a blast to part of this project.
