No other words needed! Please be kind to animals and nature, carry out what you carried in!
This is so very sad for this man, I hope he’ll make a full recovery! But we should learn from it and all carry bear spray with us. Not in your backpack or on your bike, but on your person! Knowing how to use bearspray is essential and make sure it’s not expired. The use of bear spray most likely saved this mans life, but also the life of the bear!... If out with your bikes, make noise and let wildlife know your in the area. Be especially aware if you bike in an area with lots of natural food like berries or fish. Bears need to fatten up now for winter, so you will find them close to berry rich areas or rivers !
This is important also in this area. Even though less likely to meet a grizzly bear, it is always possible! Be aware of your surroundings and if you hike or camp in an area with berries, make extra noise. Try not to set up camp too close to berry patches
This is how Bear moms nurse their cubs when they are out of their dens. You are very lucky if you’re able to witness this a mother bear has 6 nipples and cubs will switch back and forth
Trip report from the Fat Dog Sawyers! Thanks for all the work you do!
