Born and raised in the Ontario City of Sudbury, I have deep roots in the area. While I moved out west in my mid twenties, I have returned to the city nearly eve...ry year (sometimes numerous times) for various reasons. The landscape has changed dramatically since my youth and I am very proud to see the incredible results of the reclamation work that was undertaken in the area. I am also honored to have had the opportunity to photograph the area for various groups and organizations over the years such as Canadian Geographic, the Vegetation Enhancement Technical Advisory Committee (VETAC - Sudbury) and the Ontario Mining Association (OMA). Each of these projects have helped to educate and demonstrate the incredible work that has transformed the landscape in the area from an industrial barren to a successfully reclaimed landscape. Because of the efforts of an entire community, this story is one of the world's most successful environmental stories. I am also proud to be a patron of the The Friends of Lake Laurentian (FLL). On my return trips, I have enjoyed creating images like this one below depicting a reclaimed and vegetated landscape reflected in calm Lake Laurentian on a serene, peaceful morning. It doesn't get much better than this. #LakeLaurentianConservationArea #sudbury #conservation #reclamation #lakelaurentian #autumn #environmental Friends of Lake Laurentian See more
