Can you take a guess of what animal Hermione is saying hi to? If you guessed one of our Plymouth Barred Rock chickens we have at #MotherwellNHS then you are cor...rect! Hermione does an amazing job of welcoming all of our guests and even our furry and feathered friends we raise at the homestead. What is your favourite animal from Motherwell?

The leaves have fallen just like the temperatures, which means #MotherwellNHS is closing for the season. We have enjoyed seeing each and every one of you. We ho...pe our staff and beautiful farm animals brought you smiles and left you with memories to keep you warm throughout the winter! We cannot wait to see everyone next year and we will be counting down the days until we open again.

Can you spot our Plymouth Barred Rock chicken hiding behind the tree? Many homesteads including ours at #MotherwellNHS will let their chickens outside into an e...nclosure or free to range on the farm for the day and then lock them up at night in a coop. This method provides the benefits of having the chickens graze for food, get exercise, and help get rid of some pests while still making sure the chickens are protected at night from the hungry prairie predators!
