From blood cancer to the Boston Marathon

Who knew??? How cool is this. I did this selfie in 2014 ... a year before I had even ran a marathon. Make a decision, put your head down and the magic happens. Looking back on running Bawston for three straight years...2016, 2017, and 2018... We were told by 3 different hospitals, during nearly a year of treatments that I had less then a 10% chance of living to 5 years. The odds of living to 5 years only went up to 30% with a stem cell transplant. 5 years later, after my stem cell transplant May 2012, I started the 2017 Boston Marathon. It was my second Boston, third and fastest marathon by over 25 minutes. With God all things are possible. A huge thank you to everyone who has prayed and encouraged and reached out to us during this entire time... marathon running may be a solo sport but I've never felt alone...

Nathan has been using the treadmill to earn some money to pay for his video games. Today we rode outside for about 25 minutes with a few stop breaks. It was the first time just the two of us went for a bike ride together!! He paid off his debt to Mom the banker!! @ London, Ontario
