This post from Life With Two Autistic Daughters is giving me all the feels tonight. I’m so unorganized with all of my sons papers! I have everything from day one, but...... it’s finding it I need a system that can grow with my family! If anyone has any recommendations please comment below With doing remote learning I feel like I’m drowning in paperwork as well as trying to remember everyone’s passwords for everything! Tips and tricks would be greatly appreciated ... -Logan’s Mom

Blog post Remote learning Blog #2 I LOVE REMOTE LEARNING We’ve been having a blast doing our remote learning. Logan has been learning lots of different things. Logan is really enjoying his peers and teacher. He’s usually pretty happy for the most part. ... Yesterday was Logan’s hardest day yet. He was showing a great deal of frustration with crying, pinching and scratching. His work load was bigger than most days. I pushed him through it and he did really well. During our last class Logan was playing with a dice at the table, I never thought anything of it as he’s done it before. But this time was different he popped the dice into his mouth and when he did that he began to choke. He grabbed my arm to get my attention and he was starting to go blue. I rushed him to the standing position and proceeded to give him the Heimlich. I was able to get it out while staying calm thankfully. This could have happened to anyone, he doesn’t typically put things in his mouth so I’ve never had to worry. It was definitely a scary moment. It ended his frustration for the day. He sat there very quiet listening to the teacher. (Logan is perfectly fine) Logan’s teacher has been going above and beyond. Last week he had asked us if we would like to share some things about autism with the class as it’s autism awareness month. We took the opportunity and shared a wonderful video explaining what autism was. We also answered any questions the kids had. He also mentioned to the class that they should wear the colour blue as many days as they could for the rest of October, as he’s been wearing a blue shirt EVERYDAY! My son Liam also wrote a speech to read to Logan’s class as well. We’ve also been doing assignments based on autism. It’s almost as tho I’m living a dream and that it’s too good to be true! Our family is absolutely blessed to have such a wonderful remote learning teacher. I will update everyone later on about Logan’s remote learning. - Logan’s Mom In the image you can find Logan relaxing with a blanket during his schooling.

In October, Find Your Voice Music Therapy joins the celebration of Autism Awareness Month! We appreciate this meaningful time to acknowledge the beautiful gift...s that individuals with exceptionalities bring to the world! The Government of Canada estimates that 1 in 66 children and youth have been diagnosed with autism in Canada. This month provides an opportunity for Canadians to learn more about people living with exceptionalities, including autism, and how we can support individuals, families and caregivers. Certified Music Therapists focus on the abilities, not disabilities, of the individual. When working with individuals with autism, we note the beauty of their alternative perspective and unique way of seeing the world. Often these individuals excel in certain areas such as music, art, math, computer skills, honesty, detail orientation, and visual thinking.
